IT and Wonder Woman top IMDb's list of the Top 10 Movies of 2017. The adaption of the 1986 Stephen King horror novel leads a list of superhero and science fiction films. Though several of the movies on the list were critically acclaimed, some may come as a surprise to fans, such as Justice League, which takes the #6 spot.
Both Wonder Woman and IT have helped Warner Bros. pass $5 billion at the worldwide box office. After making $821.7 million, Wonder Woman became the highest-grossing superhero origin story film of all-time. Meanwhile, IT reached a worldwide total of $694.1 million, making it the highest-grossing R-rated horror movie ever. Warner Bros. has launched Oscar campaigns for both films. The films have also been ranked among the top 10 trending topics of 2017, according to Google.
IMDb, one of the most popular sources for movie and TV content, annually ranks the year's best films. For 2017, IMDb has ranked IT, Wonder Woman, and Beauty and the Beast as the best three films. IMDb has released their full list, which you can read below:

What stands about IMDb's list is that half of Top 10 Movies of 2017 are superhero movies. All of them, with the exception of Justice League, were critical and commercial successes. Logan became the second highest-grossing R-rated film of 2017, while also gaining widespread praise from critics for stepping outside the boundaries of the superhero genre. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Blade Runner 2049, and Beauty and the Beast have also been well-received.
Alien: Covenant and Justice League, on the other hand, have not been met with the same level of response from audiences. Despite making over $600 million at the box office, Justice League has been labeled as a box office disappointment. The film has also received mixed reviews. Though the movie is described by critics as an improvement over Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, it's still not considered to be on the level with most other superhero movies released in 2017, Wonder Woman included.
