Your Honor is a TV crime drama series that aired for two seasons on Showtime, but will it get a season 3? Starring Bryan Cranston in his post-Breaking Bad return to television, Your Honor revolves around a respected New Orleans judge who bends the law when his teenage son is involved in a hit-and-run incident that kills the kid of a prominent mafia kingpin. The series was a big enough hit with viewers to earn a second season.

Your Honor was adapted from an Israeli TV series called Kvodo, but it put a uniquely American spin on the story with its New Orleans setting. The second season of the remake aired from January to March 2023, but in the months since that installment concluded, Showtime has not officially renewed Your Honor for more episodes. Is Your Honor season 3 ever going to get made, and will Cranston be involved?

Your Honor Season 3 Is Not Happening

Your Honor will not be coming back for a third season (via TVLine). When he was promoting the show on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in 2022, Bryan Cranston described its return as “the second and last season of Your Honor,” confirming that season 2 would be the end. Whereas Cranston’s previous TV shows Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad were conceived to go on indefinitely for several seasons, Your Honor was always planned as a limited story with an ending in sight.

The first season of Your Honor was actually initially written as a miniseries, but Cranston said that Showtime brought it back for season 2 when it received “higher ratings than any other series they’ve ever had.” While it would make sense to keep that success going with a third season, Your Honor season 2 reached a definitive conclusion in its finale episode. Cranston’s likable Your Honor character has been sent back to jail, and he’s shown to be content with facing the appropriate punishment for his crimes. This completed his character arc, so there’s nowhere else for the story to go.

Bryan Cranston Is "Interested" In Producing Your Honor Season 3

While Your Honor hasn’t been officially renewed for a third season, Bryan Cranston is open to it. The actor said (via TV Series Finale), “I’d be very interested in producing [Your Honor season 3]. I don’t know about being in it because my guy’s back in prison.” If Your Honor did come back for season 3 and the show remained focused on Cranston’s character, then it could become a prison drama and explore what happens when a judge is behind bars. Alternatively, much like the show's second season, season 3 of Your Honor could introduce all-new characters for the story to focus on.
