Sendit is an anonymous icebreaker game app which can be added onto a Snapchat account. Sendit is one of the earliest publishers of Lens Games on Snapchat using Snap Kit, and according to Snapchat, the app achieved one million installs during the first month of its release in 2021. The free Snapchat add-on uses AR lenses to create games, like ‘Rate Me,’ ‘This or That,’ and more.

Although Snapchat has some privacy settings, like selecting who can view a story or a ‘For My Eyes Only’ folder which hides posts from everyone except the poster, Snapchat doesn’t offer any anonymity for messages. Users are able to see who views and screenshots their stories or messages as well as save messages from being automatically deleted after the 24-hour period. Sendit, on the other hand, allows a user to post a prompt in their Snapchat Story and receive anonymous responses from their friends, much like NGL for Instagram. However, Sendit also has a paid membership that allows recipients to buy hints regarding the identities behind the messages.

To use Sendit, the user will have to download the app and connect their Snapchat account. It’s available for both iOS and Android on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store, respectively. Once users download and open the app for the first time, they will see a large yellow button at the bottom of the screen that says “let’s go,” beside the Snapchat ghost icon. Clicking this button will redirect to Snapchat, where they’ll be asked, “Connect to sendit?” After hitting the continue button, users will be sent back to the Sendit app, where they can get started.

Sendit will then present the user with a large message bubble that says “ask me anything,” which they can click to erase the text and type their own question, or leave it as is. In the editing window, they’ll also have the option to choose a background. When a user is done perfecting their question, they just need to hit “Share” and they’ll be brought back to the Snapchat Story editor, where they’ll see their prompt displayed. From there, they can snap a selfie to go with it, or just go ahead and post. Then, their friends can submit their responses, which will be completely anonymous.

Sendit users can also share games to their stories. These can be found by tapping the “see AR games” button at the bottom right corner of the screen in the Sendit app. As with the message feature, selecting this will redirect to the Snapchat Story editor. Sendit games will then open and operate like Snapchat’s many other AR lenses.

Sendit Users Can Buy Hints To Reveal A Sender's Identity

The diamond membership is an auto-renewing subscription for an outrageous $9.99 per week that unlocks additional features for users. According to the App Store, the diamond membership gives the member access to more games, a limited edition diamond member app icon, add-free content, and unlimited hints about who is behind the anonymous reply. The hints can range from a general statement like what type of phone the replier is using to more specific information like a general location of where the responder is. Whether the hints are helpful in determining who the responder is or not, their full identity remains hidden.

Sendit reminds users that it knows the identity of all posters and responders. Sendit collects data such as names, contact information, demographic information, general location, and internet activity information, and reserves the right to share information under certain circumstances, like with third-party business partners or to protect the company against legal proceedings. Users should take that into consideration.

Finally, Sendit does have safety requirements to protect underaged children and teenagers. Sendit has an age rating of 17 years or older and underaged children will need a parent or guardian to reach out to Sendit in order to prevent their account from being deleted. This’ll help parents track what their child is doing on both Snapchat and Sendit.
