New fan art imagines what Iron Man's successor, Ironheart, would look like in the MCU. As Marvel Studios wrapped up the Infinity Saga last year, the franchise also bid Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr. goodbye with a tragic but poetic send-off in Avengers: Endgame. With that, conversations about who might take over his mantle in the universe have begun and fans have their own personal picks including Riri Williams.

Created by Brian Michael Bendis in 2015, Riri debuted as a 15-year-old whiz kid who designed her own version of the Iron Man suit in the comics. She ultimately assumed the superhero persona of Ironheart while Tony was in comatose on the heels of Civil War II. Like her predecessor, Riri is smart and ingenious. But to be able to help her fully transition to become a hero, Tony's consciousness was used in the A.I. of her suit (ala Jarvis and Friday), allowing them to converse with each other, and him providing needed guidance. There are still no signs that Marvel Studios is looking to debut Riri in the MCU, but that doesn't stop fans from speculating about her anticipated arrival.

Digital artist Raf Grassetti imagines what MCU's version of Ironheart might look like in his latest creation. The fan-made art gives fans a good look at her potential suit on the big screen, which mined inspiration from her appearance in print. Check out the images below:

While there's no indication from Marvel Studios that they are planning to introduce Riri in the MCU, an Ironheart script by Jada Rodriguez emerged on the Black List back in 2018 giving fans the idea that they might be secretly working on her project. The said script was dubbed to be "one of the best scripts" the organization read that week which further boosts people's interest in it. Marvel Studios, however, didn't comment about the matter, and even with their whole Phase 4 is now laid out with some known projects beyond, there's no word about Ironheart coming into the big screen. In any case, fans of the character are optimistic that it's only a matter of time before she makes her way to the universe considering that others founding heroes of the franchise are seemingly getting their successors like Captain America, who passed the shield to Sam Wilson at the end of Endgame.

Frankly, there's no urgency to introduce Ironheart in the MCU. As previously mentioned, they have they Phase 4 blueprint set with a string of other films just waiting to be announced for Phase 5. Marvel Studios is also expanding on the small screen with a slew of Disney+ exclusive shows starting this year. On top of all that, they also have their newly-acquired Fox Marvel properties such as X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool all just waiting to be debuted. This is not to say that they shouldn't bring Riri into the universe, it's just that it shouldn't be anytime soon.
