Tony Stark is going from Wall Street to the city streets when oncoming writer Christopher Cantwell takes over in October. This bold new direction will take Iron Man in a bold new direction, with new allies and enemies as well as a powerful returning antagonist - Korvac!

According to solicitations for October, Tony will be looking to re-brand himself as a street hero in order to rehabilitate his flagging image (presumably after the events of Dan Slott's Robot Revolution). Just how successful these efforts are and how sincere Tony's motives are, remains to be seen, but it seems like Tony will have at least one ally willing to speak truth to (former) power - Patsy Walker aka Hellcat!

However, no one said the life of a street hero was easy, and it seems like Tony is going to have his hands full. Between Arcade, Absorbing Man, and Cardiac, Tony Stark will find no shortage of enemies to contend with. The surprising big bad mentioned in the solicitation, however, is Korvac. Hailing from an alternate Earth, Michael Korvac gained destructive cosmic powers after an encounter with the Grandmaster and remains one of the Avenger's toughest enemies. Just how he will wind collide with the now street-level Iron Man is a mystery, but he's one enemy that might be outside of Tony's now-reduced pay-grade. After all, it normally took several Avengers, if not several teams of Avengers, to bring down Korvac. In order to win, Stark will have to out-think a cosmic enemy from another reality many more times intelligent than he is.

The Avengers square off with Korvac in Marvel Comics.

Putting Tony Stark back on the street is an interesting angle for the armored Avenger. Stark is, after all, normally accustomed to a swanky lifestyle among the rich and powerful, and seeing him interact with the likes of Hellcat, and potentially, other street-level heroes could be a lot of fun.

Of course, the solicitations mention that Tony's ever-present ego (and god complex) won't be very far away, complicating Tony's effort to apparently turn over a new leaf in the eyes of both the public and himself. It should also be interesting to watch how much comfort - and power - Tony is willing to part with. Is Tony Stark completely separating himself from his company completely, assuming of course he manages to retake control of it from his brother? And just how will the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist adjust to being only one of those things? Iron Man is in for an entirely new adventure.
