Over the weekend there's been some Iron Man movie news. I didn't post anything sooner because I try to stay away from my PC on the weekends. :-)
Favreau and company have been on the road, filming in many locations:
"We started off in the mountains of Lone Pine which doubled for Afghanistan. We then moved to Edwards Air Force Base. We finally closed out the out of town work with Fontana, CA."
In regards to fans' favorite topic, the armor, he confirmed what I've stated here long ago and gave more info concerning the recent photo of Robert Downey Jr. that was recently released:
"The movie will contain both the gray suit and the gold and red. The light you see in the photo on Robert's chest in the USA Today article is the chest piece glowing through his shirt. He is in captivity and forging the mask of the Mark 1. Both suits have been built practically by Winston Studios and are busily at work as we speak."
Over at Empire Magazine, Favreau talked about Iron Man being an "adult" superhero movie:
"To me what's appealing about Iron Man is that it's not a superhero movie set against a backdrop of teen angst. It's about an adult who has demons and is a very flawed hero, much like all the Marvel heroes."
Finally, in regard to any possible political message in the movie, Downey had this to say:
"Y’know, even if there isn’t a political dimension to it, people are gonna project one on to it..."
I'm still waiting to hear something about this movie that puts me in a pessimistic mood, but so far it's all been good. For more quotes from the director, Jon Favreau, follow the "Empire" link below.
