When it comes to comic book characters that excel at ingenuity and creativity, there is one Marvel character in particular that comes to mind, Iron Man. Now, when it comes to toys that excel ingenuity and creativity, there is one toy company in particular that comes to mind, LEGO. Fans of both will be happy to hear that Lego has recently announced a couple of different Iron Man LEGO sets, giving everyone the chance to feel like Tony at home.

While there have been plenty of Iron Man related LEGO sets in the past, it seems that LEGO designed these sets with adults in mind, providing a level of artistry that elevates these particular sets above simply "building brick toys" to pieces any avid comic and culture collector would be proud to put on display.

The first two of these sets really hits that previously mentioned on artistry on the head in quite a literal way by being part of LEGO's new line, LEGO Art. The set features what looks to be more like a painting of Iron Man than your traditional playset, with the fun part being that the "painting" is comprised of different colored LEGO studs that ultimately "paint" the picture of Iron Man. The set includes 3167 pieces and is recommended for those 18 and up due to its more complicated nature. What makes this set even sweeter is the fact that it can actually be arranged three different ways to display three different sets of armor, and if you decide to buy three whole sets and combine them together you can unveil a fourth ultimate Iron Man picture. The three detailed portraits of Iron Man’s armor include the MARK III, the HULKBUSTER MARK I, or the MARK LXXXV. Not only does the set include multiple ways to build, but it also includes a soundtrack that provides stories and cool details about the set. Anyone that already has walls covered in comic book posters and a room full of LEGO sets will be thrilled by this happy medium that balances between sweet modern art and a fun weekend project. Although the piece is still listed as "coming soon," the price point is set at $119 USD. If you'd like more info you can check it out here on the LEGO site.

The second set allows you to really feel like Tony as you build the Iron Man suit yourself... well... at least the head... and it is made of LEGOs... but nonetheless you get to build a part of the actual armor yourself! This set allows you to build an Iron Man helmet right in your own living room! Sadly, the piece isn't a full life-size replica, coming in at only over 7.5” (19cm) high, 4” (10cm) wide, and 4.5” (12cm) deep. The set is far less of a commitment than the earlier set as this one only contains 480 pieces, but, just like the artwork set, is still recommended for those 18 and up. This set, while also new, is actually available right now, and will put a little less of a dent in your wallet as it costs $59.99 USD. Here is the link to it on the LEGO site.

With many people having grown up with LEGOs, it is always nice to see sets aimed at an older audience, especially those tied into a licensed project as amazing and loved as Iron Man. These sets are sure to be a fine addition to anyone's collection, and one might even be able to get away with sliding that Iron Man portrait on the wall of a room that LEGOs usually aren't modern enough to fit into.
