These are strange days in the life world of Iron Man comics, with the arrival of the new year bringing an end to Tony Stark's time in the armored suit. It's also the beginning of a new chapter in the hero's history, as Tony Stark's long lost brother takes the name for himself to become Iron Man 2020. Fans are guaranteed to have questions, but Marvel is busy giving them a trailer to build up the mystery and scale of the coming relaunch.
Marvel Comics hasn't exactly been playing coy with the coming death of Tony Stark, leaving the role of Marvel's resident billionaire genius AND Iron Man open for his brother Arno Stark to claim. The idea of Arno in an Iron Man suit of his own first appeared in 1984's Machine Man #2, but the publisher has devised a new take on the same character for the actual year. This January, Iron Man 2020 begins with the promise of "monumental effects" for years to come, surrounding the circumstances of Tony Stark's disappearance and apparent replacement. But whether or not Tony Stark is dead for good, the breakout of a robot revolution may be too much for either Arno or Tony to prepare for.
The time has come for machinekind to unite and demand equal rights! But not all humans think that A.I.s are worthy and Arno Stark – Iron Man 2020 – is one of them. Will he still fight with all he has against the robot revolution, even as other heroes begin to fill their ranks?
