The poster for Iron Man 2 has been remade in the style of a classic Marvel comic book. Back in 2010 when Iron Man 2 hit theaters, Marvel was still in the beginning stages of building their cinematic Universe. Iron Man 2 was released two years after the first film and centered around Tony Stark fighting against Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer, while he deals with being slowly poisoned by his Arc Reactor.

Unfortunately, Iron Man 2 was not as big of a hit as it's predecessor. Iron Man started out the MCU and is still considered one of its strongest entries, but Iron Man 2 is often called one of franchises low-points. Iron Man 2 was criticized mainly due to Jon Favreau having to cram too much into the film, including introducing new characters like Black Widow and having to set up future movies like Thor and The Avengers. Whiplash was also a main point of criticism, which likely stemmed from Mickey Rourke's hatred for working on Iron Man 2 and behind-the-scenes drama between the actor and Marvel executives. Despite the negatives of Iron Man 2, one fan has tried to make fans see the film in a different light.

Artist John Black recently shared his version of the Iron Man 2 poster, which he made to look like a Marvel comic book. Iron Man's armor is comic accurate, and Whiplash looks just like he did when he first appeared in Tales of Suspense #97 in January 1968. The artist includes his full illustration, as well as side by side comparisons with the official poster, in his Instagram post below:

In the years since Iron Man 2 was released in theaters, the MCU more than bounced back from the negative reviews. Tony Stark returned for his third and final solo outing in 2013, and while many people criticized Iron Man 3 for ruining the Mandarin, it still faired better than Iron Man 2. Tony would make up for his wrongdoings over the course of future MCU movies and his relationship with Pepper Potts also came full circle in Avengers: Endgame. Black Widow also exponentially evolved past her role in Iron Man 2, with her character sacrificing herself to secure the Soul Stone for Avengers' battle against Thanos.

Fan art like the one above reminds people how different the MCU could have looked. While a lot of comic book lovers want the movies to be comic accurate when it comes to storylines and costumes, it's safe to say Iron Man 2 would have gotten even worse reviews had Whiplash and Iron Man's costumes looked comic accurate. COVID-19 has affected the movie industry as a whole, but with Black Widow and the entire slate of Phase 4 movies being pushed back, fans are craving anything MCU related. In short, this piece of Iron Man 2 fan art can partly fill the void until fans can return to theaters.
