[Possible Iron Fist SPOILERS to follow.]

-

Of the four originally announced Netflix/Marvel TV series, Iron Fist is easily the most challenging to adapt to the screen. Where heroes like Daredevil and Jessica Jones have a more grounded set of powers, as well as origins tied to New York City, Iron Fist has supernatural gifts bestowed upon him in the mystical city of K'un-L'un. These challenges gave way to rumors of cancellation, or the possibility of a TV movie rather than a full series, after New York Comic-Con 2015.

Marvel soon put a stop to those rumors with the announcement that Scott Buck (Dexter) will be serving as showrunner on Iron Fist, as well as the first official synopsis of the series. It was later revealed that Jessica Jones writer Scott Reynolds would also be joining the crew, but it was only recently that the single most anticipated detail about the upcoming Marvel series came to light. Namely, that Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) is going to be playing Danny Rand/Iron Fist in the upcoming series.

With production set to begin on Iron Fist in April, a new set of rumors have come out about the supporting cast of the series. That Hashtag Show, in conjunction with MCU Exchange, has released new character breakdowns for four new characters, code-named Devon, Christine, Jody, and Walter. Check out the above video for the details on the character breakdowns.

Using those details, THS was able to determine that those characters are Davos the Steel Serpent, Colleen Wing, Joy Meachum, and Ward Meachum respectively. It's worth noting that at this point this is simply rumor and speculation, but THS has a strong track record for Iron Fist rumors, being the first to reveal Finn Jones' casting as Danny Rand. Their sources have also indicated that Shang-Chi will appear in Iron Fist and while that hasn't been officially confirmed, it seems to be very likely at this point. That is to say: there may well be some fire behind all the smoke, in this particular case.

Joy Meachum Ward Meachum Iron Fist

Joy and Ward Meachum will likely play a big role in Danny Rand's civilian life. In the source material, Danny and Joy's fathers found Rand-Meachum Incorporated, a successful investment enterprise worth millions of dollars. Joy is set to become CEO  before Danny returns to New York City and joins the company. While Joy and her Uncle Ward are initially antagonists, as Joy believes Iron Fist is responsible for the death of her father, Joy goes on to become an ally and employer of the hero.

Fans of the comics are likely most interested in the other two additions to the cast. Davos, an exiled native of K'un-L'un, is a supervillain with martial arts prowess that rivals even Danny Rand. Those who paid close attention during the first season of Daredevil will recognize the name Steel Serpent, as it was the name of Madame Gao's specific brand of Heroin. Davos has a close relationship to a character known as Crane Mother in the source material, leading many to speculate that Madame Gao would turn out to be her alter ego.

Colleen Wing Davos the Steel Serpent Iron Fist

With the announcement that Simone Missick will be playing Misty Knight in Luke Cage, comics readers immediately began wondering when her  best friend and frequent partner Colleen Wing would appear. While the character doesn't have any powers, she's a skilled martial artist who wields an inherited, 1000-year-old katana. Wing is also an accomplished private detective, at one point forming an investigation firm with Knight called Nightwing Restorations, LTD. With both of these characters finally being brought into the MCU, there are a number of possibilities for the characters to spin off into their own Netflix series, too.
