Netflix releases the Iron Fist season 2 teaser trailer, which will follow the further adventures of Danny Rand (Finn Jones) aka. the Immortal Iron Fist. Netflix has been building up their corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since Daredevil premiered in 2015. The mini-universe set in New York City has since expanded to include Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher. While many of the series received positive critical and fan reception upon their premiere, Iron Fist (nor The Defenders) was as well regarded. However, with Danny Rand appearing in both The Defenders and Luke Cage season 2, fans have come to enjoy the character more.

Now that Netflix has increased its output of Marvel offerings from two seasons a year to three, which started in 2017, we're set to get one more this year. Sophomore outings of both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage arrived earlier this year and it was thought Daredevil season 3 would be the third Marvel Netflix series of 2018. However, when it was announced that Iron Fist was heading to Comic-Con International in San Diego - and Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb teased the Immortal Iron Fist would return this year - it seemed season 2 of Danny Rand's solo series was more likely to arrive.

Now, during the Iron Fist panel at Comic-Con, Netflix debuted the first teaser trailer for season 2. The teaser focuses on one particular fight between Danny and a group of villains, with a voiceover of the Immortal Iron Fist himself warning about a brewing war. In addition to Jones reprising his role as Danny Rand, Iron Fist season 2 sees the return of Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meechum, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, and Sacha Dhawan as Davos. Plus, Luke Cage's Misty Knight (Simone Missick) will join the cast of Iron Fist in season 2. It was also announced at the panel that previously cast actress Alice Eve will play Typhoid Mary, a Marvel Comics villain typically associated with Daredevil.

However, as Danny says in the teaser, he's taken over as the protector of New York City since Matt Murdock's apparent death in The Defenders (though viewers know he isn't really dead). Still, until Daredevil season 3 effectively resurrects the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, it's Danny Rand's job to protect it. Though this teaser doesn't offer much in the way of actual scenes from the show, footage descriptions of Iron Fist season 2 are making their way out of the panel - and they hint at an exciting season. Considering season 1 wasn't very well received, hopefully the only way to go is up. No matter what, fans will get to see Iron Fist season 2 for themselves later this year.
