Iron Fist star Jessica Henwick is of two minds, but she's open to reprising the role of Colleen Wing in future MCU projects. She played the skilled martial artist opposite Finn Jones' Iron Fist on every episode of both seasons of the show, as well as 6 episodes of the crossover series The Defenders. The character was a standout on the series, especially because of her complicated allegiance that forced her to choose between the Hand and Iron Fist, though she hasn't stepped into the role since Iron Fist was canceled in 2018.

The Netflix Marvel shows, which also included Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Punisher, were technically part of the official Marvel Cinematic Universe, referencing events from the film franchise. However, after the rise of the Disney+ live-action MCU series that feature characters from the films, including WandaVision and Loki, the Netflix entries have been somewhat disregarded. That all changed this week when Hawkeye revealed that the villain pulling the strings is none other than Daredevil's Kingpin, played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

Speaking with SyFy, Jessica Henwick discussed whether or not she'd consider returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Colleen Wing if she was asked. On the one hand, Henwick adored playing the role so she said she "would love to revisit her and get back into her head." However, because of that love for the character, the idea of introducing new conflict to her life is slightly painful. Henwick says "she's living her best life" and that she just "want[s] her to have her happy ending." Read the full quote below:

I'm so torn. On the one hand yes [I want to return as Colleen Wing], because I loved her and I put so much work into her. And she is one of those characters I tried to protect so hard. I felt really passionate about her story.

So yes. I would love to revisit her and get back into her head.

On the other hand, we left her in a great place. She's paired up with Misty, she's got that going on, she's got her powers, she seems to be good at it. She's living her best life. And I know if we bring her back, we have to bring her into conflict. I just want her to have her happy ending.

Now that the Kingpin reveal has been confirmed, there is a much higher chance that other Netflix Marvel characters will be folded into the MCU at large. There have long been rumors swirling that Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil in some form in the future, though there is certainly space for Colleen Wing to hop over to Disney+ or even a film in Phase 4 or 5. The New York-based hero is in a prime location to rub shoulders with many of the Avengers, who are primarily based on the East Coast.

If Marvel would truly like Jessica Henwick to bring her Iron Fist character to life once more, they had better act fast. The actress is appearing as the new original character Bugs in The Matrix Resurrections, which comes out on December 22. If that film blows up and kicks off a whole new branch of the franchise, Henwick is likely going to be too busy to jump onto another major franchise for quite some time.
