Danny Rand is the Immortal Iron Fist and he's burdened with glorious destiny - something he really likes to reminder everyone else about, as a new compilation video of scenes from Iron Fist and The Defenders illustrates. Danny's frequent declarations that he's the Iron Fist has become something of a running joke in the Marvel/Netflix TV shows, with other characters on the series having even referenced it. Unlike Star-Lord, who nobody had heard of before Guardians of the Galaxy, the Iron Fist has some history that Danny is hell bent on explaining to everyone he meets.

This compilation covers both the more serious times that Danny has declared his destiny and purpose, as well as some of the more comedic moments. From Danny taking down Daniel Meachum to the shrink's questions about is he "Danny Rand" or the Iron Fist, seeing them compiled together reinforces Danny's youth and age and how he really is burdened with glorious purpose, almost like he has to keep reminding himself of that fact. The Iron Fist is the sworn protector of K'un Lun, gifted with an incredible power that they use to protect the heavenly city. Far away in New York, Danny feels like he's not fulfilling his destiny - a possible reason for why he has to keep reminding himself that he is "The Immortal Iron Fist".  It's a theme that's further explored in The Defenders and will hopefully get more of a spot light in Iron Fist season 2.

While this YouTube video compilation put together by user TerryB2 (see above) might empower some and leave others chuckling, the Iron Fist is here to stay and it looks like he might be inspiring some other heroes in his wake (see the possibility of Colleen Wing and Misty Knight forming the Daughters of the Dragon, down the line). The Immortal Iron Fist may sometimes have difficulty believing in his destiny, but those around him have already begun following his example and carrying hero torches of their own forward.

The Defenders - Iron Fist (Finn Jones)

Danny Rand may have difficulty believing in his glorious destiny and his presence is often the source of backlash, but the Immortal Iron Fist was left in a place to affect real change at the end of The Defenders. If this video compilation points out anything, it's that Danny Rand needs to get himself together and be prepared to make sacrifices.

While the Immortal Iron Fist might be good for a laugh to some, things in New York remain as dangerous as ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's time for Danny to stop saying he's the Immortal Iron Fist and start acting on it, too.
