After two seasons of television, we may finally see Danny Rand wear his classic costume in Iron Fist Season 2. Whenever a beloved superhero comes alive in film or on television, fans are eager to see them in their classic costume. Marvel's Netflix shows have mostly delivered on that promise, with the heroes in Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage wearing (or at least referencing) their comic book outfits. The one hero who didn't "suit up" was Danny Rand, and there's no sign of his iconic green and yellow costume in The Defenders either.

That could soon change, however. In the final moments of The Defenders, we see Danny Rand wearing a green and yellow track suit that subtly nods at his iconic getup. But that's just another step in a progression that will eventually see the character don a superhero costume of his own, according to Danny Rand himself.

Speaking to CBR, actor Finn Jones confirmed that while it's not entirely up to him, he hopes and expects to don a recognizable version of Iron Fist's comic book costume sooner rather than later:

"I’m not the writer for this show, nor am I the executive producer. So unfortunately these things don’t fall on my head. But from an actor’s distinct perspective, I certainly think that will happen within, hopefully, Season Two."

The costume has been something fans have been clamoring for and it seems Jones too. The actor's belief he'll eventually wear his own costume come from it being a natural next step for the character:

"Towards the end of Defenders, Danny has certainly become a lot more grounded, and driven, and more purposeful character. And I certainly think, moving forward into season two, that superhero outfit would be something that Danny Rand finds extremely alluring, and cool, and after seeing Daredevil in his getup, I definitely think he may be persuaded to find one himself. What it looks like, who knows? I’d like to see a mashup of all of the kind of outfits."

We'll have to wait for the next season of Iron Fist to see what form that outfit takes, but there's one classic element that Jones is determined to include:

"I would like to see a bandana. I’d love to see the classic yellow bandana with the two ribbons in the back flowing in the wind. I think that’s killer. I would love to see that!"

Fans will be happy to know that it's only a matter of time until Danny Rand is wearing a version of his famous costume, and really it's no surprise that Marvel and Netflix are easing their way into the reveal. Daredevil didn't don a version of his classic red armor until the last episode of his first season, after all. In the case of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, the shows only offered sly references to their original costumes.

It will be fun to see Finn Jones don a version of his character's costume, even though it remains to be seen just how faithful it will be to the original. Indeed, some elements are unlikely to carry over to live-action, like the distinctive (and very large) yellow collar. It's probably safe to assume that it won't be as skin tight as it is in the comics either.

Iron Fist received mixed reviews, so Marvel and Netflix will have to tread carefully in crafting a second season that everyone will enjoy.
