Marvel Studios first launched their Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man in 2008, then expanded to television with ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2013. But, the MCU took another major step forward with the premiere of Daredevil in 2015, kicking off a street-level corner of the universe housed exclusively on Netflix. Since then, Marvel debuted the first seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage as well as a sophomore outing of Daredevil, while 2017 will be the first time Netflix premieres three distinct series in the MCU. Iron Fist will hit the streaming service next month, with the team-up miniseries The Defenders debuting this summer and Daredevil spinoff The Punisher premiering later in the year.

As the most recent trailer and promos for Iron Fist have highlighted, the series' titular character - Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones) - is the final Defender to debut in their solo series before joining the team-up. However, Iron Fist will feature plenty of other Marvel Comics characters, though fans are arguably most excited for the debut of Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) in terms of secondary heroes. Recently, Marvel released an action-heavy Colleen Wing-focused clip and now Henwick discusses the character's state of mind in Iron Fist.

While speaking to Interview Magazine, Henwick recalled her roles in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens and HBO's fantasy drama Game of Thrones. Additionally, she previewed a little bit about what fans can expect from Colleen Wing in Iron Fist when the series debuts next month:

"The most defining word that comes to mind is alone—in all its positives and negatives. She doesn't want to be anyone's love interest and open herself up in that way."

Colleen Wing's comic book history is tied to both Danny Rand and Luke Cage's Misty Knight (Simone Missick). At one point, Colleen Wing was brainwashed to fight against Danny by his enemies, but she's largely been a hero and teamed up with Misty Knight under the Heroes for Hire banner - a group that was founded by Luke Cage and Iron Fist. However, it's still unclear how much of Colleen Wing's character history Marvel plans to include and/or explore once she debuts on Iron Fist.

Based on trailers for Iron Fist, we know Colleen Wing will team up with Danny Rand in order to help him defeat his enemies - and a brief shot in the most recent trailer seemed to show Colleen and Danny getting particularly close. Plus, we know that Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) will train under Colleen as she becomes involved in Danny's fight as well. But, considering Henwick's comment that Colleen isn't necessarily looking to open up to anyone about anything, and her simple "You need me" statement to Danny in the latest trailer, it's clear Colleen Wing will be, if not completely alone, then certainly isolated when viewers meet her.

Of course, considering the humorous naivete demonstrated by Danny in many of the trailers so far, Colleen's more gruff and standoffish demeanor could make for a fun dynamic throughout season 1 of Iron Fist. Still, fans won't get to see for themselves until Iron Fist debuts - but the show's release is only little more than a month away.
