A new report seemingly confirms earlier rumors that all four iPhone 14 models launching this year will come with 6GB of RAM. Reports about the iPhone 14 lineup getting a significant RAM upgrade have been doing the rounds for a while now. Back in March, TF International Securities analyst and prolific tipster Ming-Chi Kuo revealed several key details about the iPhone 14 series, including news that all four models might ship with 6GB of RAM. However, while the two vanilla models will ship with LPDDR4X RAM, the two 'Pro' models are expected to come with LPDDR5 memory.
The latest report contradicts earlier claims by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, who suggested that the iPhone 14 Pro models will come with as much as 8GB of RAM - the same as many flagship Android devices like the Galaxy S22 and the base versions of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Meanwhile, a multitude of other rumors over the past few months have also revealed several other aspects about the iPhone 14 lineup. One such rumor is that the two 'Pro' models in the iPhone 14 series will be powered by the new A16 processor, while the two vanilla models will stick with the A15 SoC that powers the iPhone 13 lineup.
A new TrendForce report reiterated that all four iPhone 14 models will offer 6GB of RAM. It also seemingly confirmed that the two 'Pro' models will be upgraded to LPDDR5, while the two base models will come with LPDDR4X memory. The report also claimed that the two higher-end devices may start at 256GB of storage instead of the 128GB offered by the two vanilla models. The two 'Pro' models will also apparently be offered with up to 1TB of storage, while the base variants will only get up to 512GB at the most.
iPhone 14 Rumors Reiterated
The TrendForce report also seemingly confirms many of the other rumors about the upcoming devices, including the build materials, screen sizes, cellular connectivity options, front and rear camera configurations, and more. As per the report, all the four models will support both mmWave and sub-6 5G, but the vanilla models and the 'Pro' models will differ in almost every other aspect. While the base models will have aluminum frame, the 'Pro' variants will have frames made out of steel.
In terms of the screen sizes, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will feature 6.1-inch displays, while the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max will ship with bigger 6.7-inch screens. As for the cameras, Apple will carry on the tradition of offering dual-cameras with the base iPhone models while reserving the triple-camera setups for its higher-end models. The primary camera in the two top-end models, however, will have a 48-megapixel sensor instead of the 12-megapixel units offered by the iPhone 13 series. The front cameras on all four of Apple's iPhone 14 models will still come with 12-megapixel sensors.
