There's no doubt that the iPhone 13 is an excellent handset, but before going out and buying, it's important to make sure the screen size of Apple's latest smartphone meets your needs. Whenever a new phone comes out, certain features are talked about more than others. People become obsessed with screen resolution, CPU performance, camera quality, and battery life. All of these things are equally important in their own right. That said, they aren't the only things to consider when buying a new phone.

Another factor that plays a huge role is a smartphone's screen size. A phone can have the best-looking display, the most incredible cameras, and blazing-fast gaming performance. However, none of those things matter if a phone's screen size is too small or big for someone. Everyone has different wants and needs. Some people love tiny phones, others need the biggest screen possible, and there are folks who want something right in the middle.

In the case of the iPhone 13 series, Apple has screen sizes for pretty much everyone. Starting with the smallest screen, there's the iPhone 13 mini and its 5.4-inch display. Not only is it one of the smallest iPhones currently available, but it's one of the smallest smartphones on the market, too. Considering the general lack of tiny/compact phones, this alone makes the iPhone 13 mini worth a look. Have small hands or need something that can easily fit in cramped pockets? The iPhone 13 mini fits the bill perfectly. Going a step up from that is the regular iPhone 13, donning a larger 6.1-inch display. This makes it considerably larger than the 13 mini, yet still manageable to use in one hand and fit in most pockets/bags/purses.

iPhone 13 Pro & 13 Pro Max Screen Sizes

Then there are the two 'Pro' models. The iPhone 13 Pro has a few upgrades over the regular iPhone 13 — such as a 120Hz refresh rate, better cameras, and longer endurance. However, its screen size is exactly the same at 6.1-inches. Compared to other top-tier flagship phones, the iPhone 13 Pro is certainly on the smaller end of the spectrum. The Google Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch display, the OnePlus 9 Pro also has a 6.7-inch screen, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra's display clocks in at 6.8 inches. For someone who wants all the bells and whistles without getting an outrageously big screen, the iPhone 13 Pro strikes that balance with grace.

But, of course, not everyone wants a flagship with a smaller screen. For people who want to go all out with the biggest display possible, that's where the iPhone 13 Pro Max comes into play. It has a screen size of 6.7-inches and is the largest iPhone available for purchase. Having such a big display is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it makes content consumption and multitasking a thing of beauty. Games are easier to play, movies look more impressive, and it's more convenient to handle endless work emails. At the same time, that enormous size can also make the iPhone 13 Pro Max large and unwieldy to use — especially for people with smaller hands.

At the end of the day, there's no 'right' choice about which screen size is best. Instead, it all comes down to personal preference. Want a really tiny phone that can fit anywhere? There's the iPhone 13 mini. Prefer something a bit larger that's still mostly manageable? Get the iPhone 13 or 13 Pro. Need a huge display regardless of anything else? Have at the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
