IO Interactive, developer of the long-running Hitman stealth-action game series, is set to reveal a brand new project tomorrow. The studio was owned by Eidos Interactive and Square Enix for a number of years, but in 2017 the studio gained independence while retaining the rights to its biggest franchises. The company's next title, Hitman 3, is slated to release on January 20.

IO Interactive has received huge acclaim for its latest Hitman titles, the first two installments in what has come to be known as the World of Assassination Trilogy. The games were a strong return to stealth-focused sandbox gameplay, after 2012's Hitman: Absolution put more focus on action and linear level design. The hotly anticipated third entry in the trilogy is set to release on almost every platform imaginable, including both current-gen and last-gen systems. A Cloud Version of Hitman 3 for Nintendo Switch has been announced, allowing owners of the last-gen system to still experience the new title via streaming.

Now Hitman fans have something new to look forward to, as IO Interactive announced on Twitter that it will be revealing a new project tomorrow, November 19. The reveal will take place on the developer's YouTube channel, with the tweet providing a link to the page. The brand new project is set to be revealed at 6am Pacific Time, and the date happens to coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 5 in most of Europe and other countries where the console has not yet launched.

While not much is known about Hitman 3the game is set to follow in the footsteps of its predecessors. Every mission and location from 2016's Hitman was carried over into Hitman 2 when it released, giving that title a huge amount of content for stealth fans to chew through. Now the same will be true for Hitman 3, meaning that the new release will essentially be three games in one. However, it has been confirmed that Hitman 2's multiplayer Ghost Mode will not be present in the third game, suggesting a complete focus on single-player content this time around.

IO Interactive's new Hitman trilogy has blown gamers away with both the quality and quantity of available content. The games are huge, allowing for hours and hours of guard-choking and disguise-wearing stealth action. The reveal of a new project comes as a bit of surprise, considering their newest game hasn't even released yet. Whether this new project is somehow related to Hitman or is a totally original creation, gamers should keep their ears open to hear what IO has in store for them.
