The IO Guards are a menace in Fortnite. This guide will show players where they can find (or avoid) them with their spawn locations. Fortnite continues to add new content to its ever-evolving map every week. The IO Guards themselves can be a make or break for players on the battlefield. These AI-controlled characters will spawn out in specific locations and attack the player for getting too close. Outside of the anxiety of dealing with other players trying to kill you, the IO Guards will continue to hunt you down until you get far away enough. Here are the exact locations where they can spawn.

The newest season of Fortnite has just begun with season 5, making this the perfect time to jump back into the game. For players who kind of fell off in earlier seasons because of all the supernatural additions to the game, it's nice to see that this season seems to be a bit more grounded in reality. Players will only get far in the battle royale if they are cunning enough to survive. Outside of players, the IO Guards can kill the player. Defeating them may drop valuable items but the damage is taken and resources used to battle them aren't entirely worth the time or the effort. Here's where players can find the IO Guards.

IO Guard Spawn Location in Fortnite Season 5

Fortnite IO Guard Spawn Locations

There are 15 possible spawn locations on the map. This image was created by Mang0e revealing all of their locations. Players will encounter these metallic cubes that will open up if the player gets too close. About 3 IO Guards will walk out and begin shooting at the player. It is best to acknowledge where they are so players can avoid them at all costs. Although, players can use this knowledge to trap other players who are pursuing them. Ultimately, the IO Guards are there to cause more harm than good. Proceed with caution.

Fortnite will continue to add more challenges throughout the next coming weeks. It is likely that one of the challenges will require the player to hunt down a certain amount of IO Guards to complete it. Completing these challenges adds more experience into the player's battle pass, allowing them to unlock more skins, cosmetics, dances, emotes, and more. Considering the season has just started, there is still plenty of time to purchase the battle pass to jump in on the growing action. This has been one of the best seasons of Fortnite in a while for those who were fans of the old gameplay styles.
