The first poster for Amazon Prime's Invincible series is out, and it confirms a bloody brawl between the titular superhero and his father, Omni Man. Based on the eponymous comic-book character created by The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman, the upcoming animated series tells the tale of Mark Grayson, an ordinary teenager who inherits his superhero father Nolan Grayson / Omni-Man's Viltrumite superpowers shortly after his seventeenth birthday. As Mark enters his father's tutelage, he gets embroiled in gruesome, traumatic battles, which often have gaping consequences. The show is set to premiere on March 26, 2021. It features several A-listed performers, including Steven Yeun, J. K. Simmons, Mark Hamill, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Mahershala Ali, and Ezra Miller, among its main cast.

Continuing the tradition of "Invincible Fridays," which reveals some new information about the forthcoming animated series every week, Invincible recently set a new poster teasing the show's character dynamics. The poster finds Mark's leading hero lying dejected in the ruins of some unidentified city after facing-off against his father. His mask is broken, with blood running through his nose. Nolan, meanwhile, can also be seen levitating at a distance. Though Mark bears several injuries in the artwork, the great Omni-Man doesn't even seem to have a scratch on his face. Take a look at the poster below.

Although the poster does not explicitly confirm a direct conflict between Mark and his father, it's likely that some major family disagreements are on the horizon. In the comics, Nolan's Omni-Man eventually turned out to be a Viltrum supremacist supervillain who beat his own son to within an inch of his life. So this effectively rules out the possibility of the father-son duo fighting together in the poster. Additionally, since the series creators have promised Invincible to be 'action-filled and emotion-packed,' a brutal face-off between a parent and his child fits in well with the tone of the show. Due to a lack of context, it is difficult to determine if the poster is inspired by any particular sequence in the comics. But hopefully, fans will be able to make sense of the poster once the series premieres next month.
