Content Warning: The following article contains spoilers for the series Inventing Anna.

Since Inventing Anna tells the story of how Anna Sorokin conned some of the most powerful, influential, and richest people of New York, it’s no surprise that there are several of them in the miniseries.

The most affluent characters represent the elite in the city and are well-known for their wealth and power. They can get into all the exclusive parties, own the biggest houses, spend money on the most luxurious items, and more. While some of these individuals have real-life counterparts, only their actions and characterization on the show will be taken into consideration.

Vivian Kent

Vivian may be among the smartest characters in Inventing Anna, but she’s far from being the richest. Fans see how she lives a mostly modest lifestyle with her husband, Jack, with their house and small family likely looking familiar for a lot of audiences who live in similar homes with their partners.

Even though the people she meets and interviews are mostly in the wealthy circles in the city, she seems to care more about building her story and fixing her reputation than becoming rich herself.

Neff Davis

Fans know that Neff loves to hustle and respects those who can – she becomes Anna’s closest friend precisely because they both share this trait. When she’s working in the hotel, Neff knows how to treat guests right, especially big spenders, as she’s aware that the tips that come her way will help her save up for her first film.

That said, Neff likely isn’t getting paid as much as her friends are and she doesn’t have the same experience of being born into and being supported by a rich family. Viewers may recall how she rejects Anna’s offer to go on vacation because she has run out of leaves and needs to keep her job to pay the bills.

Anna Delvey (Anna Sorokin)

Determining just how much money Anna actually has is tricky, as it’s hard to tell if any of the cash she throws around is actually hers. She also cons banks into accepting false checks before depositing them from other branches (like she does before she goes to Los Angeles), so does that money that comes from fraud count as her wealth?

Whichever the case may be, the fact that Anna can afford expensive outfits and dine in fancy places even before she goes to New York hints at some source of funding not depicted in the series. However, it’s likely that most, if not all of her wealth has come from conning others – depending on who one asks, this either counts as or should not be considered as affluence.

Rachel Williams

It’s safe to say that Rachel is more fortunate than most of her peers, as she’s able to land her dream job at Vanity Fair shortly after arriving in New York. While it’s certainly not the highest-paying job in the city, fans see that she can afford to live on her own and can even keep up with (expensive) fashion trends when she’s hanging out with her friends.

Of course, as Neff mentions during their confrontation, a lot of Rachel’s designer items were gifted by Anna. She likely doesn’t have as much money as characters like Kacy, but she seems to be able to afford the occasional splurge (not to mention three months without employment).

Todd Spodek

A huge conflict between Todd and his much wealthier wife, Margaret, revolves around his feelings of insecurity and inadequacy when compared to her and her social circle. Unlike Margaret, who is a socialite from a well-known family in New York, Todd doesn’t come from money.

The only reason Todd could be considered rich is that he lives with Margaret and is pulled into her lifestyle. On his own, he may earn more than the average person because he’s a lawyer, but his net worth would be nowhere near Margaret’s.

Kacy Duke

It’s easy to see why Kacy is such a likable character in the miniseries, as she always knows what to say to comfort and support her friends. That calming energy and wisdom she has are exactly the kind of traits she needs for her high-paying job as a personal trainer, as celebrities and wealthy clients often rely on her to get them to stick to healthier lifestyles.

It’s mentioned on the show that Anna pays Kacy $4000 per month for her services, which means it’s safe to assume she gets that much money from her other clients as well. Considering how she works hard and sees multiple people a day, Kacy is probably the richest person in their friend group.

Chase Sikorski

Whether fans like him or not, Chase is one of the most powerful characters in the series. Thanks to his efforts at networking to get investors for his app, he’s able to afford extravagant getaways and live in hotels with Anna.

Fans know that he pays for everything because he believes her money is being held back by her father. Because he’s conned by Anna, he eventually loses everything and moves to another country, dropping his revolutionary app completely. He likely had millions in investments at one point, which elevated his net worth and status in the city for a while.

Margaret Spodek

Margaret may not appear as often as other characters on the show, but audiences can piece together the clues to realize just how wealthy she actually is. Aside from Todd’s comments about never being able to live up to her family’s expectations, affluence, and reputation, there are subtle hints about Margaret’s wealth.

For one, fans may remember how she has a hard time finding anything in common with Jack when they have an awkward conversation while waiting for their partners. She only goes to the most renowned art galleries, which is why she’s not familiar with his work. She also has a massive house (complete with a walk-in closet), which is not something just anyone can purchase in New York.

Talia Mallay

Viewers immediately know Talia is an influential person through Vivian’s reaction after seeing Anna’s post with her. The art collector and businessperson is obviously well-to-do, as aside from hosting lavish parties in her mansion, she can afford to spend days on a yacht in Ibiza.

She also talks to Vivian about how she used to be ashamed of having money, but now she has accepted her wealth and shares it with others. Even she acknowledges that it’s a unique problem to have, and although she’s likely not as rich as those in Nora’s circle, she will probably come close when she gets older.

Nora Radford

Nora in a restaurant in Inventing Anna.

Without a doubt, Nora is the richest character in Inventing Anna. If it’s not her grand house in NYC that gives it away, it’s her designer items, exclusive events, and, of course, powerful friends that prove she’s the real deal.

Anna is desperate for Nora’s approval precisely because of how wealthy and influential she is. The protagonist knows that Nora can connect her to all the right people, as a short sequence in the show highlights her lavish lifestyle with renowned individuals not just in the city, but in the entire country. An underrated moment that underscores how significant the Radford name is happens during her interview with Vivian, when Nora nonchalantly reveals that she got the $400k Anna stole by simply calling one of her good friends, who happens to be the CEO for AmEx.
