AMC has dropped a new video teaser that offers audiences their first official glimpse at the highly anticipated Interview With the Vampire TV show. The series stars Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson as the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac. Based on the best-selling 1976 novel of the same name by Anne Rice, Interview With the Vampire is the first in Rice’s decades-spanning Vampire Chronicles series. The rights to the series of books were acquired by AMC last year, along with Rice's The Lives of the Mayfair Witches.

The Interview with the Vampire series pilot was directed by Alan Taylor, who also previously directed on Game of Thrones, and most recently directed The Many Saints of Newark for HBO Max. Anderson's Louis is joined by actor Sam Reid, who is portraying the character of Lestat de Lioncourt. The story revolves around the vampire Louis, as he recounts his life story and journeys to a reporter, including his vampire origin and his mentorship by Lestat. AMC ordered eight episodes of the series, and a release date is yet to be announced.

Now, a new video teaser has been posted by AMC Networks on Twitter, featuring exciting clips from pivotal scenes between the characters of Louis and Lestat from Interview With the Vampire. The character of Lestat is seen with bloody fangs terrifyingly hovering over Louis as he delivers the line, "I give death to those deserving." Anderson's character looks on visibly shocked, while laying on the ground. One of the series' locations is also seen in the teaser, as the two characters appear to be conversing in a church. Watch the new Interview With the Vampire teaser clip, among others, below.

Based on the terrified expression of Anderson's Louis in the clip, it seems that this teased scene is from the early days of Louis and Lestat's relationship, perhaps even before the former becomes a vampire. Given how little is known about the series so far, it's not clear how much of the novel's events the upcoming episodes will cover. Original author Rice sadly passed away before Interview With the Vampire season 1 could be completed. However, she remains credited as an executive producer on the show. Also starring in the series is actress Kalyne Coleman as Grace, Louis' sister, and Bailey Bass as Claudia, a young girl Louis and Lestat adopt and convert to vampirism. In 1994, a popular Interview With the Vampire film adaptation was released, which starred Tom Cruise as Lestat, Brad Pitt as Louis, Kirsten Dunst as Claudia, and Christian Slater as the reporter. The AMC series adaptation is currently still filming in New Orleans, where much of the story takes place.

The new images from Interview With the Vampire are an exciting treat for fans of the property who were thirsty for a first glimpse at the series' interpretation of Rice's iconic vampires. Based on this brief teaser, it appears that Interview With the Vampire is staying close to the spirit of the books given Lestat's 18th century costume, and the dark New Orleans setting. With the series' first clip now officially released, audiences can likely expect a release date to be announced soon, when they can see how the new adaptation of Rice's famous vampire series stacks up against Cruise and Pitt's portrayals.
