Assad Zaman is the newest actor to join the Interview with the Vampire series cast. The show is an adaptation of Anne Rice's gothic horror novel of the same name. This isn't the first time the novel has made it to screen, with its famous 1994 adaptation starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Kirsten Dunst. AMC announced the Interview with the Vampire series back in June 2021.

Revealed earlier this week (via Deadline), Zaman will be portraying Louis' companion Rashid in the 2022 remake of Interview with the Vampire. The actor is credited in several different shows and was involved in the National Theatre. His most recent work saw him as Anish Sengupta in the Britbox original series Hotel Portofino. Rashid is a smaller character familiar to fans of Rice's original books.

Other casting announcements came throughout late 2021, with Australian actor Sam Reid being the first to join as Lestat. This was quickly followed by Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac and Bailey Bass who is set to play Claudia. With very brief plot details having been released, little is currently known about how any of these characters will change for AMC's remake.

It was confirmed by 2022's Interview with the Vampire director Alan Taylor that filming has already begun for this production as of December 2021. Following this, fans were given a first look at the series, teasing the new Lestat and Louis. Interview with the Vampire is set for release later this year, so fans won't have to wait long to see how all these characters come together in this new adaption.
