Where can Interview With The Vampire be seen online, and is it on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime? Interview With The Vampire was published in 1976 and became the first instalment of author Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. The novel deals with a vampire recounting how he was turned to a reporter and his undead journey, but it was the villainous Lestat who became a fan favorite. It took over a decade for the book to receive a movie adaptation, with Rice famously pushing for Rutger Hauer to play Lestat.

This led to some controversy when Tom Cruise was chosen for director Neil Jordan's adaptation of Interview With The Vampire. Anne Rice felt the star was utterly ill-suited for the part and wasn't shy about airing that opinion during interviews. That said, she quickly changed her mind after seeing Cruise's impressive performance and she ended up praising his work. The movie also featured a fantastic supporting cast, including Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Banderas and Christian Slater. Interview With The Vampire did very well upon release in 1994, but Jordan and Cruise later departed a planned adaptation of Rice's novel The Vampire Lestat.

Instead, the studio pressed ahead with a sequel that fused The Vampire Lestat with Queen Of The Damned, which became the movie's title. Stuart Townsend (XIII: The Series) was cast as Lestat and the late Aaliyah played villain Akasha, but despite good work from its stars, the sequel is a disappointing, badly dated mess. Interview With The Vampire remains a  popular entry in the vampire genre, but sadly it currently can't be found on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime in the U.S.

Interview with the Vampire

There are still many options to view Interview With The Vampire online, however. The movie can be rented from platforms like YouTube, iTunes, FandangoNOW and Google Play from $2.99. Likewise, it can also be purchased from Amazon, Vudu, DIRECTV, YouTube and more from $8.99. Queen Of The Damned is also readily available to rent or purchase from the above platforms with prices beginning at $2.99.

A TV adaptation of The Vampire Chronicles has been in development for a few years, with Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) once attached as showrunner. The show is currently at AMC, though there's no word on who will play Lestat. Director Josh Boone (The New Mutants) was once attached to a movie remake of Interview With The Vampire and claimed Jared Leto would be perfect casting for Lestat, but given the actor is playing another famous vampire in Morbius, that feels unlikely to happen.
