Microprocessor veteran Intel announced the debut of its new 11th Gen Core processors today, advertising them as the very best processor for thin and light PC laptops. Additionally, Intel has announced its new Evo platform brand badge for designs containing the new 11th Gen Core processors that meet particular specifications and key experience indicators (KEIs). While twenty designs have already been confirmed to include the new Intel Evo badge, over 150 are still in development and will be announced from brands, including Asus, Lenovo, HP, and Samsung.

Originally founded over fifty years ago, Intel has helped contribute to the innovation of microchips, leading to the dawn of personal computers and microprocessors. The fortune 500 company currently sits as the largest and highest valued semiconductor chip manufacturer in the world today based on revenue. Originally codenamed 'Tiger-Lake,' Intel's 11th Gen Core processors include Iris Xe graphics, offering the fastest and most productive generation of processors yet across Windows and Chrome OS laptops.

According to Intel's announcement, by utilizing its new SuperFin process technology, the 11th Gen processors optimize power efficiency with both outstanding performance and responsiveness while running at significantly higher frequencies, compared to prior generations. The press release promises unmatched capabilities toward productivity, collaboration, creation, gaming and entertainment. With the additional announcement of the Intel Evo brand platform, a new class of high end performance laptops will be following the lead of Intel's pursuit of industry-leading innovation.

Intel's New Evo Badge Of Honor

By using an intensified testing methodology, Intel and its partners are raising the bar to provide customers a wide array of integrated features available combined with optimized CPU, GPU, AI acceleration, and platform capabilities that maximize the performance of applications and features people use most. To even qualify for Intel's Evo badge, laptop designs must consistently meet or beat the KEIs, and all specifications must be verified. It's easy to see that Intel is taking its demand for quality devices housing its Core Processors very seriously, in order to even don the Evo badge. For example, indicators such as consistent battery responsiveness, waking from sleep in less than one second, and nine or more hours of real-world battery life are the very minimum requirements that must be met to even be considered for the badge. Clearly, hardware developers will have their hands full building to spec, but each seem up to the task if it means having the Intel Evo logo on their laptops.

Much like a microprocessor itself, there is much more below the surface of this announcement of the 11th Gen Core processors, and the tiny parts that make it all up have to be top of the line to work most efficiently. This new generation of processors combined with Iris Xe graphics and the new requirements of the Evo badge, make Intel's latest debut one to be excited about. Windows and Chrome OS fans should rejoice at the fact that major tech developers like Lenovo and Samsung are already developing new laptops to cater to these processors. So while the prospect of the most ambitious leap in performance is enticing, it will be truly inspiring to see what the PC laptop manufacturers choose to do with this new technology.
