Molly is one of Insecures principal characters with a storyline that has taken audiences on a wild ride. Aside from being protagonist Issa Dee’s best friend, Molly has been typecast as the character with a flair for self-sabotage, especially in her relationships.

Despite this, Molly is an upstanding character with a successful career as a  lawyer and is also financially independent. Those characteristics, coupled with Molly’s intelligence and wit, not only make her a lovable and sought after character within the show but also one which many other characters have been interested in. Hence, here are 10 characters Molly could potentially end up with.

Chris

Chris is the gentleman Molly meets from the Leagues App (a dating app for Elite singles) back in season 1. Upon first meeting him, she recognizes that he is the sort of man that she needs (attractive and educated) and quickly tries to involve him in her life.

This backfires as Chris feels pressure to move too quickly into a relationship with Molly and eventually this leads to them not speaking anymore. This relationship was left abruptly and perhaps in some redemptive storyline, the writers could have Molly revisit the League App and potentially reconnect with Chris to see if they could pick up where they left off.

Lawrence

Molly and Lawrence have maintained a friendship throughout the years and have always been cordial with each other. Not only that, the two share a circumstantial bond due to Issa and have also both been hurt by her in some way.

While it may be wrong to consider Issa’s ex as a love interest for her best friend, the current status of Molly and Issa’s relationships as of season 4 could throw all the best friend/ girl code rules out of the window. Hence it would not be unfair to consider a Molly-Lawrence union.

Quentin

When Molly was still an associate at Merrill, Johnson, and Schwartz, she caught the attention of her coworker Quentin. Quentin is an upstanding guy, educated, funny, and is attracted to Molly. Molly, however, did not think he was the type of guy she should be with at the time, as she was battling whether or not to continue her open-relationship with the married Dro.

Now that she seems to have become more focused on a monogamous union, a storyline where Molly and Quentin could link up and end up together is plausible. Besides, the chemistry between the two was already there, and Quentin would be familiar territory for Molly.

Jared

Back in season 1, Molly met Jared at an open mic where his brother was performing. Initially, she was not interested in Jared but eventually realized that he was a decent guy with genuine intentions.

However, things go south when she finds out that Jared had experimented with men in the past and, despite admitting that she had also done the same with women, she still finds it unacceptable. They eventually make amends but never fully recover from their first fall out, leading Jared to ultimately get into another relationship. Molly’s relationship with Jared is one that could still be revisited should the two meet up again.

Dro

Dro and Molly in INSECURE

Dro has been considered as one of Molly’s most complicated relationships. Dro was Molly’s childhood best friend and was married when they met again in season 2. Regardless, Dro becomes a little too friendly and reveals to Molly that he’d always felt something towards her. He also stated that he and his wife were in an open relationship and that he and Molly could still explore a romance.

The two then began an ‘affair,’ one which led to many disappointments on Molly’s side. While Molly made a conscious choice to leave Dro behind in season 3, there is a possibility that Dro could still make a comeback to shake things up in season 4.

Issa

Issa is Molly's best friend. She has been a part of Molly’s life since the beginning and the two know the most specific and intimate details about each other. Even though a rift has formed in their friendship in season 4, the two have experienced relationship woes in the past which they’ve both learned to overcome.

Despite their ups and downs over the seasons, the two seem to always find their way back to each other. Hence, Issa is a potential character Molly could end up with, an outcome that would be favorable for the two best friends.

Andrew

Andrew, or ‘Asian Bae’ as he is known in Insecure, is the relationship Molly is in as of season 4. When they first met back in season 3, Molly was not really interested in him; however, after a few changes in her own life, she decided to give Andrew a chance.

At the beginning of season 4, the two were merely working through a relationship and deciding along the way the level of commitment they have for each other. As of the fifth episode of the season, the two appear to be finally committed to one another and seem to have made their relationship official. Considering this, it is highly likely that Molly could potentially end up with Andrew and have her happy ending with him.

By Herself

If viewers have learned anything about Molly in the last four seasons of Insecure, it is that she is a character in need of constant self-work. The audience has seen her move in and out of relationships, hurting herself along the way. She often does so in order to avoid addressing some of the more serious things going on in her life.

Should things not work out with Andrew, it would be beneficial for Molly to consider staying single for a season. Perhaps she could go back to therapy to address some of the deep-seated issues in her life, continuing to better herself.

Anyone Else

It was recently announced that Insecure was renewed for a 5th season, which means that Molly’s storyline still has time to continue evolving. Even though things are going great with Andrew, there is a possibility that a new character will be thrown into the mix and potentially serve as a new love interest for Molly.

Molly is continuously on a restorative and learning path. Hence, season 5's Molly might be refreshed with a new and fresh relationship storyline. As for who and how that might happen, audiences would have to wait until the end of this season to find out.

Kelli & Tiffany

Kelli and Tiffany have always served as both Molly and Issa’s surrogate best friends. The four have had many adventures together and have supported Molly when she's had relationship troubles in the past.

Kelli's eccentric yet relatable personality coupled with Tiffany’s ‘motherly’ role greatly compliments Molly’s reserved and uptight character. Given the evolving nature of Molly’s friendship with Issa, it is highly likely that Kelli, Tiffany, and Molly could end up together as the three musketeers.
