Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 3 brings several new DC characters to the roster of the fighting game, including the previously revealed Atom, Enchantress, and the surprise addition of all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Announced during the Injustice 2 World Championship, fans knew Fighter Pack 3 would include some mystery characters in the reveal trailer, but were totally shocked (just look up some reaction videos on YouTube) to see the Turtles in a Half Shell join the game's diverse roster that already branches outside of DC comics with the inclusion of Mortal Kombat characters and Hellboy.
Improving on its predecessor, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Injustice 2 has always put a big emphasis on the diversity of its roster as it steadily continues to expand. With a number of promised characters - including some from Watchmen - still MIA, many fans expected the announcement to reveal one of those additions, only for Michelangelo to be revealed as the one wearing the trenchcoat at the end of the trailer before being joined by Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael.
The fact that this reveal was kept entirely under wraps was an impressive accomplishment and the game's director, Ed Boon, said as much on Twitter, saying "Part of me can not believe that character reveal didn’t leak...."

Exactly how these characters will factor into the roster isn't yet known. Will they be a single "character" tag team? Will they each be independent playable characters? What will their specials be? Outside of their mere existence on the larger roster, how they factor in has yet to be revealed, but it could obviously be done a variety of ways.
Not to take all the attention away from Atom and Enchantress, both characters appear to be worth additions in their own right. Enchantress rocks an appearance more in line with her traditional comic book look than the recent Suicide Squad appearance and is shown wielding green magic that could prove to give her some impressive attacks, while Atom's shrinking power also showcases abilities that could be very creatively translated into the fighting game.
While some fans voiced frustration at the TMNT reveal, criticizing NetherRealm Studios for adding "joke" or "gimmick" characters, it remains to be seen how the turtles factor in. They could easily be a fun addition to the game, providing some offbeat style and humor, but with a number of big name DC characters still highly anticipated, the DC portion of the game's roster will need some attention in order to satisfy fan expectations.
Atom will be available for early access on December 12th before being joined by Enchantress in January and the TMNT in February.
