Enchantress Battles Deadshot in New Injustice 2 Trailer

Gameplay footage of the next to last DLC character for Injustice 2, Enchantress, debuts in a new trailer that shows the character battling Deadshot. Enchantress might have been defeated in the movie Suicide Squad, but the Injustice 2 version has more than a little bit of fight in her. June Moon isn't in control but her body is still laying the serious smack down on DC's lineup of character in the fighting game.

Enchantress is the penultimate (announced) DLC character for Injustice 2. The only characters that are left to be revealed and released for the comic book game is the crossover addition of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While some fans might be waiting the release of the Turtles with baited breath, there's plenty of reason to be excited about Enchantress. This is especially true for the DC faithful. Like all previous characters, Injustice 2 appears to have taken great pains to properly bring Enchantress to the game.

As fans know, Injustice 2 was developed by NetherRealm Studios, the same people responsible for the recent Mortal Kombat games. It's not surprising then that Enchantress does seem to play in a similar fashion to Mortal Kombat X's Ermac, although Injustice 2 has still found a way to make Enchantress her own character. The dialogue between characters, before and during battles, remains excellent and chockfull of fan service. The trailer really only shows up Enchantress trading barbs with the aforementioned Deadshot. It's a very exciting taste of things to come.

Enchantress is the eighth of nine planned DLC characters for Injustice 2. She joins the increasingly gigantic roster among previously released downloadable characters such as Red Hood, Sub-Zero, Starfire, Black Manta, Raiden, Hellboy and The Atom. All of which can currently be purchased individually or as a part of bundles.

Beyond getting Enchantress' voice right, there's none of that weird belly dancing and whispering from Cara Delevingne's portrayal, re: the moves and gameplay also feel pitch-perfect. As can be imagined, Enchantress engages in a lot of ranged and magic based attacks. Injustice 2 also manages to build off the fact that Enchantress is a presence that is possessing a host body, June Moon. As such, there are plenty of moves that involve Enchantress actually leaving June's body. Enchantress' awesome super move even manages to take her opponent's soul out of their body for an ethereal beat-down.

For her part, Enchantress is a part of Fighter Pack #3 in Injustice 2. She is grouped together with the previously mentioned Ninja Turtles and DC Comics' Atom. She will be available on January 9 for those who have purchased Fighter Pack #3, Injustice 2: Ultimate Edition and Injustice 2 Ultimate Pack. For everyone else, Enchantress, like all previous DLC characters, will be available for standalone purchase on January 13 from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and Microsoft Store.
