The launch trailer for Injustice 2 reveals Brainiac's sinister plan while Earth's heroes battle it out to save humanity. Following the smash success of Injustice: Gods Among Us, anticipation has been high for the sequel to DC's hit fighter. Providing alternate takes on the comic company's biggest heroes and villains, we've spent the past few months with an embarrassment of riches in terms of trailers and gameplay footage for the new game. We've learned about downloadable characters, seen how the Gear System will work, and have been treated to videos showing off Joker, Firestorm, and Darkseid.
Tomorrow, the game will hit consoles, but it's already available for mobile devices. Though it's only just arrived, the bombardment of marketing for the game has meant fans are more than aware of what awaits them in the new game. Almost every major superhero and villain will be showing up, joining shifting alliances and duking it out with patented Supermoves. Of course, along with all of the fighting, Injustice 2 will feature a narrative framing the action. With the release upon us, we now have a better idea of what that story will be for the game.
DC Entertainment has just released the launch trailer for Injustice 2, teasing Brainiac's attempt to collect Earth and enslave it using an army of creepy robo-zombies. In between the glimpses of story, we also see a lot of shots of the gameplay, teasing new characters and environments. The quick clip will likely require a few viewings to fully unpack, but it provides a strong idea of what to expect from the upcoming game. And in case you missed it last week, here is the trailer for the upcoming Injustice 2 tournament:
There's ultimately a lot going on in the trailer. We see Superman back in action, get to watch Wonder Woman channeling Captain America, and there are shots of Grodd's powerful new villain alliance. There's also shots of different costumes that will be available for the likes of Batman and Harley Quinn, glimpses of a few Supermoves, like Green Arrow throwing Brainiac onto an explosive arrow, and even an amazing scene where the Flash punches a T-rex. For Injustice fans, the game looks to be an exciting follow-up to Gods Among Us, featuring an amped-up version of the game players love.
