Since Marvel Studios expanded the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the small screen, fans of the shared universe have awaited the day for the movies to reference the shows. So far they're still waiting. Occasionally, small connections between the Netflix and ABC shows have been made, but there has not yet been any true film-to-TV crossover.
With Inhumans being transformed into a television event on ABC, questions have emegered as to how the new series will overlap with the pre-existing Marvel property on the network, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Although S.H.I.E.L.D. laid the foundation for the live-action Inhumans, it would not have been a surprise if the two shows existed on their own. That appears to be changing slightly with recent photos indicating a connection between the series, but now with new set photos focusing on Crystal (Isabelle Cornish), some context to its use may be revealed.
Twitter user Hawaii Isla 808 is back again to post more set photos from Inhumans, after previously giving fans the first look at Cornish in costume. The newest batch of photos provide a slightly closer look at the character, showing striped hair and the front of her costume. In some of the shots, it's also clear Cornish was filming in the same location as the alien artifact.

In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., these markings were the actual coordinates of a secret Inhuman city underneath the streets of Puerto Rico. It was in these caverns that Daisy, who at that time still went by Skye, and Raina (Ruth Negga) experienced terrigenesis, killing fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Tripp (B.J. Britt) in the process. The markings themselves were a result of the GH serum (formulated from Kree DNA) that Coulson was subjected to in Tahiti.
With similar markings now appearing in Inhumans and on a giant statue in the middle of Hawaii, this could be the reason for the Royal Family to make the visit to Earth. With Lockjaw also on site for these photos, and Black Bolt potentially nearby, these new markings may hint at the location of another Inhuman city on Earth.
At this point it's impossible to tell how Inhumans will connect with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it is a positive sign that some of the mythology will be headed to the upcoming miniseries. After all, Chloe Bennett has previously teased that the third pod of AoS season 4 will reward longtime viewers, so some setup or connection to Inhumans may be in the works. But, the true meaning of the markings and Crystal's interaction with them will likely be kept a secret until the series hits IMAX this summer.
Inhumans comes to IMAX theaters for two weeks starting Friday, September 1, prior to its television debut on Tuesday, September 26 on ABC.
