Marvel Studios wins big at this year's People's Choice Awards (officially 2018 E! People's Choice Awards) by nabbing several accolades including "The Action Movie of 2018" for Avengers: Infinity War. Going through a major rebranding this year, the 44th edition of the annual awards show moved from CBS to E! following the latter's acquisition of the People's Choice Awards from Procter & Gamble which had been sponsoring the event since its inception in 1975.

In its 10th anniversary year, the film company spearheaded by Kevin Feige celebrated their milestone by rolling out their biggest undertaking yet, which began the culmination of everything that the MCU has trod since 2008's Iron Man. Officially debuting Josh Brolin's Thanos, the movie saw Earth's Mightiest Heroes' first real defeat as half of the universe was extinguished following the Mad Titan's snap. It didn't take long before it was clear that Infinity War would be a smash hit at the box office, breaking the record for the highest-grossing opening weekend. It is the highest-grossing superhero movie of all-time and the highest-grossing summer release of all-time in the United States. Capping its theatrical run at $2.06 billion dollars - only the fourth movie to join the elite $2 billion club. Given this, one would be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't seen the film.

Infinity War is the "Action Movie of 2018" in the annual People's Choice Awards, besting Marvel Studios' own Black Panther, Fifty Shades Freed, Incredibles 2 and A Quiet Place. Veteran MCU star Scarlett Johansson also took home the accolade for "The Female Star of 2018." Meanwhile, Chadwick Boseman who had two huge Marvel Studios project this year with the ensemble flick and Black Panther was crowned "The Male Star of 2018." Danai Gurira (who also did double duty for MCU this year), on the other hand, was awarded "The Action Movie Star" - defeating Boseman who was also nominated in the category. Check out the announcements below:

Following Infinity War's win, directors Joe and Anthony Russo took it to their official Instagram account to thank everyone for the award and congratulate Johansson, Boseman, and Gurira on their respective wins as well. Fans in the comment section also sent their congratulatory messages to the Marvel family - with a handful of them not missing the opportunity to practically beg the directing duo for the much-discussed Avengers 4 title, trailer or frankly just anything official with regard to the upcoming movie.

With the promise that the trailer for the film will arrive before the year ends, many are anticipating that it will finally roll out sometime this month alongside the confirmation of the movie's official title. With just six months to go before Avengers 4 hit theaters, official promotional activities should begin in the near future. However, with Brie Larson's Captain Marvel next on the MCU docket, it will be interesting how Marvel Studios will juggle marketing for both films, especially with just less than two months between their release dates.
