A new batch of Avengers: Infinity War concept art offers fans different looks at Captain Marvel's beeper. Used by Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) to send a distress call to Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) just before he disintegrated following Thanos' snap in the film's post-credit scene, the device is the visual representation of hope right now in the MCU since the original Earth's Mightiest Heroes looks nothing but distraught following their first real defeat.

As of now, not much is known regarding Captain Marvel, but Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige has confirmed that when she debuts, she'll officially be the most powerful hero in the franchise. Fans will get a clearer picture regarding the character once her origin story is revealed in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck-directed Captain Marvel - a period film set in 1995, detailing her first encounter with S.H.I.E.L.D. as Earth was caught between the Kree-Skrull War -  hits theaters this March. After that, she'll join the bigger MCU in Avengers 4 as they attempt to restore peace and order in the universe and take down Thanos, once and for all.

From concept artist Fausto de Martini on Instagram comes a set of alternate designs for Captain Marvel's beeper seen during the post-credit scene of Infinity War. The different designs look more futuristic than what ended up on the film and as cool as they appear, they don't really highlight the idea that it was a beaten device that has seen better days during Carol's time with Fury on Earth. Check out the images below:

The analog look of Captain Marvel's beeper with its physical keys emphasized how much time has passed since it's been given to Fury - to the point that he presumably had to be innovative and add a couple of attachments for it to continue working. Finally, the clunky exterior and scuffed body hint at its long history and its durability - almost a metaphor to everything Fury has experienced since initially meeting Carol until his disappearance following Thanos' snap.

With Avengers: Infinity War's final frame a closer look at the beeper, it's interesting if fans will ever get to see the device again in the current timeline - maybe even returning to either Fury or Carol. It's already expected to appear in Captain Marvel as the movie will more likely explain its origin and how Fury got a hold of it. But with most of the heroes in Wakanda and Tony Stark in Titan, it's curious if there's anyone who has the foresight to pick up the beeper and know that it's a very important paraphernalia, and possibly that only thing that could save the universe from the predicament that it currently is in.
