Infinite boasts an international cast playing the sci-fi fantasy's eternal warriors. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer), Infinite stars Mark Wahlberg as Evan McCauley, who learns that he's a member of the Infinites, an offshoot of the human race who are capable of reincarnation. Evan has to unlock a secret buried in his memories that will prevent the literal end of all life on Earth.
Broken up into two rival factions, the heroic Believers and the evil Nihilists, the Infinites have been fighting each other throughout history. Each time an Infinite dies, they are instantly reincarnated and regain their memories of their past lives as they continue their age-old conflict. However, the villainous Bathurst (Chiwetel Ejiofor) has grown tired of reincarnating forever and created a weapon that will kill everyone on the planet to prevent the Infinites from reincarnating. With the help of his old ally Nora (Sophie Cookson), Evan has to remember all of his abilities and how a memory from his past life can stop Bathurst from using his ultimate weapon to destroy the world.
While Infinite sounds similar to films about immortals like The Old Guard, Highlander, and Marvel's upcoming Eternals, the film's main concept of reincarnation is a different spin on people who live forever. Mark Wahlberg as Evan McCauley
Diagnosed with schizophrenia his entire life, Evan McCauley realizes that being Infinite answers all of the questions that have plagued him throughout his life. Evan becomes the central hero in the Believers' fight to stop Bathurst. Mark Wahlberg is best known for starring in Boogie Nights and two of Michael Bay's Transformers movies: Age of Extinction and The Last Knight, though not the recently revived animated Transformers transmedia franchise.
Chiwetel Ejiofor as Bathurst 2020
The leader of the Nihilists, Bathurst 2020 is the latest incarnation of an ancient villain who wants to end not just the Infinites but all life on Earth to prevent the Infinites from reincarnating ever again. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a British actor who was Academy Award-nominated for 12 Years a Slave and starred in Children of Men and The Martian.
Sophie Cookson as Nora Brightman
Nora is an intelligent and capable member of the Believers who has a very long history with Evan McCauley's previous incarnations and has to indoctrinate Evan back into the Believers. Sophie Cookson is a British actress best known for starring in Kingsman: The Secret Service and The Trial of Christine Keeler.
Jason Mantzoukas as Artisan
The Artisan is the Believers' brilliant and party-loving inventor who has also become extremely eccentric after his eons of being an Infinite. Jason Mantzoukas is a comic actor best known for his appearances in Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Big Mouth.
Dylan O'Brien as Heinrich Treadway
One of the Believers, Treadway appears in Infinite's action-packed opening sequence and his theft of a piece of technology sets the film's story in motion. Dylan O'Brien is best known for starring in The Maze Runner, Teen Wolf, and Love and Monsters, which may yet get a sequel in Love and Monsters 2.
