Wonder Woman is undoubtedly on information overload in Infinite Frontier as Spectre exposes her to all the goings-on in her world, but this data dump has dropped a major clue about DC's Omniverse. This experience isn't forced on her, however. Diana wanted to ensure that her friends could survive without her before she joined the Quintessence, the highest order of beings in this universe, and this was Spectre's solution.
All of this comes on the heels of Future State, a two-month-long series that was just a possible future revealed to Diana by the Quintessence before her ascension, as Wonder Woman's exploits in Death Metal proved she's the pinnacle of human existence. Wanting to ease her fears and any misgivings about leaving her friends, Spectre volunteers to serve as her guide as they journey undetected in her world. What she sees reveals two major hints about what's to come.
The first possibility is that Teen Titan's future will be the worst out of every unfolding story. In Future State, readers only witnessed the horrific aftermath of a fatal battle that led to the deaths of numerous pupils at Titans Tower. But no one besides the surviving Teen Titans and Shazam witnessed the atrocities that transpired. In fact, neither has Wonder Woman, as Spectre seems to purposely cut that part of their tour prematurely. All she sees is a group of these pupils heading towards Titans Tower excitedly before Spectre quickly cuts to the next scene, a decisive action that leads Diana to question her guide's haste: "I feel as if there is more to see among these young heroes..." This suggests that what happens to these poor souls has the potential of keeping Wonder Woman from ascending, seeing as the whole purpose of this journey is meant to alleviate her worries. The fact that other segments of the tour show unfortunate developments unfold in full without Spectre moving on proves that whatever happens at Titans Tower is much worse.
The second possibility is that the events that take place in Gotham will drive everything that will later occur on Earth. This is made apparent by the only interruption during the tour. Earlier on, Spectre takes Wonder Woman to Gotham where people are exposed to the Joker Toxin, including an ostensibly deceased Bane who has already been Joker-ized. Like every part of their journey, the two soon move on to the next portion of their travels before they're later pulled back to Gotham by an unknown force: "Diana, we are pulled back," says Spectre. "There must be something we missed." What's also interesting is that the events that seem to plague Gotham delve much further beyond the Magistrate.
It's impossible to ignore that this is the only time when Spectre is compelled to change course with Wonder Woman during their tour Infinite Frontier #0 written by Scott Snyder, Brian Michael Bendis, Geoff Johns, Becky Cloonan, Joshua Williamson, James Tynion IV, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Michael Conrad and artist Joëlle Jones with art by Jamal Igle, Alex Maleev, Howard Porter, David Marquez, Jorge Jimenez, Todd Nauck, Stephen Byrne and John Timms. It's not difficult to deduce that if a mere moment on Earth with mortals can affect a god-like experience sanctioned by the Quintessence, it's not too out of the realm of possibility that it can have a similar effect on mere mortal experiences.
Of course, tragedy and driving forces can be two different things. The unfortunate development that befalls Titans Tower can be tragic without driving all of the events on Earth. So that begs the question: How will Gotham's events affect everything that transpires on Earth, especially if it has nothing to do with the Magistrate? Will everything literally stop to accommodate Gotham much like what happened during the tour? There's only one way to find out. Infinite Frontier is in stores now.
