As players adventure through Thedas in Dragon Age: Inquisition, they will come across various crafting materials to harvest or loot from enemies and chests. These items are later used to craft better weapons and armor to better withstand difficult combat. As players control the Inquisitor and work to build up an army to protect the world, they're going to need to improve their own gear and their companions' gear. Some of the best quality items, like Royale Sea Silk and Dales Loden Wool, are not easy to find, and their location can't always be predicted. Other Tier 3 and 4 crafting materials, like Dragon Bone, Dragonling Scales, and Dragon Webbing, even appear in finite quantities. Players can always purchase more from vendors, but this can get expensive. If they would rather not part with their Gold, players can use an exploit instead.

Using the Sell and Buy Back functions at almost any vendor, players can duplicate any of their stackable crafting materials. This also effectively creates a loop of infinite Gold. While Inquisition doesn't support many of the cheats that its predecessors did, this particular exploit makes it easy to ensure the Inquisitor and their team has the best gear in Thedas and the best chances of survival against everything from demons and giants to high dragons.

How to Get Infinite Crafting Materials and Gold in Dragon Age: Inquisition

Crafting Materials available at the Black Emporium in Dragon Age: Inquisition

To use this item duplication exploit, players should first find a vendor. The best options are any of the vendors at the Inquisition base in either Skyhold or Haven. This way, if anything goes wrong, the player can still buy back their most precious crafting materials without needing to travel far. As an additional safeguard, players should make sure to save the game just before trying this exploit, in case they need to revert.

Players should navigate to their Inventory and choose the Crafting Materials category. They should select the Tier 3 and Tier 4 materials they want to duplicate and move them to the Valuables category.

Next, players should click on a vendor to open the Buy/Sell interface. They will need to toggle into the Sell screen and open the Valuables tab. Then, they will need to hover over the item to sell and press Sell and Sell All at the same time. To do this, press the X and the Triangle buttons at the same time as fast as possible. They should receive a hefty amount of Gold in return.

Then, navigate to the Buy Back screen. Here, the player should see the crafting material listed and that there is twice as much of it or more. They can then buy it all back for the Gold they just received. They can repeat this process as many times as they want until they have all the materials they need.

Players can use this item duplication exploit to earn money as well. They can duplicate lower Tier stackable crafting materials and sell the duplicates to earn more Gold to purchase unique gear and mounts. The exploit will only work on stackable crafting materials, and it will not work on herbs and plants.

This exploit has been demonstrated to work on PlayStation and Xbox. It will also work on PC, but only if players use a controller.
