After a nearly 20-year hiatus from acting, Quan found himself deeply inspired by the 2018 hit Crazy Rich Asians. The same year, he was cast in Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan's Everything Everywhere All at Once, a film that proved Quan's abilities in front of the camera. For his role as Waymond Wang, the actor took home both the Golden Globe and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor among a multitude of other awards.

Audiences can next see Quan in the Disney+ series American Born Chinese, an action-adventure show based on the popular graphic novel of the same. However, the actor expressed interest in reprising his iconic Indiana Jones character in a potential Short Round spinoff project.
