A new Indiana Jones 5 set photo shows Harrison Ford back in the character's classic costume. After encountering a number of setbacks and delays following its original announcement back in 2016, Indiana Jones 5 is finally back on track ahead of its scheduled 2022 release date. Recently, director James Mangold rounded out the film's supporting cast, recruiting big names like Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, and Boyd Holbrook to the ensemble. Of course, Ford is back to portray Indiana Jones for presumably the final time.

Considering all of the issues Indiana Jones 5 went through on its way to production, it's been exciting to see the film make progress and start principal photography. The first wave of Indiana Jones 5 set photos gave viewers a look at new locations that will be seen in the movie. Those weren't the most revealing images, but now there's a new look of Ford back in action.

Especially since Indiana Jones 5 plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being, it's difficult to gauge context from this image. Based on the franchise's history, it'd be reasonable to assume the scene Ford's preparing to shoot takes place at least well into the first act, when Indiana sets off to embark on his latest adventure. As thrilling as it is to see Ford in the leather jacket and fedora again, it will be very interesting to see how Indiana Jones 5 handles its titular character. At the time of shooting, Ford is in his late 70s, so there's obvious limits to what he can do physically. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull offered a spin on an older Dr. Jones to mixed results, so hopefully Mangold is able to craft a compelling and entertaining story for the character.

With Indiana Jones 5 filming now underway, there's certainly potential for more set photos to make their way online in the coming days and weeks. Lucasfilm typically does an excellent job of maintaining secrecy and limiting any spoilers or leaks ahead of release, but there's so much even they can do. Perhaps first looks at Waller-Bridge and Mikkelsen's characters will come out soon. Since unofficial set images are circulating, there's also the possibility Lucasfilm looks to get ahead of any leaks by sharing their own photos of the cast in costume, but that isn't how they've operated historically. For now, viewers may have to make do with these types of Indiana Jones 5 images.
