Disney reveals costumes and concept art for Indiana Jones 5 at the D23 Expo. Harrison Ford returns to the role of Indiana Jones in one final adventure, with Logan director James Mangold taking over the helm from long-time franchise filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Indiana Jones 5 is set for release on June 30, 2023, fifteen years since the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and 42 years since the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark.Unlike the previous four entries in the franchise which were distributed by Paramount Pictures, Indiana Jones 5 will be released by Disney following the studio's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012. Plot details regarding Indiana Jones 5 have been sparse, as they have been keeping plot details a secret. The biggest piece of new information regarding the film aside from the cast has been John Williams debuting new music for Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character titled "Helena's Theme."Related: Indiana Jones 5 Is Going To Make You Cry (& That's Perfect)Now at D23, attendees have gotten their first look at Indiana Jones 5. On the convention floor of the D23 Expo, three costumes for Indiana Jones 5 are on display as well as concept art for the movie. The concept art showcases Indiana Jones outside of a hotel, him and the new character Helena opening up a chest in a temple, and an action scene in a small vehicle. Check out the images below:

While Indiana Jones' costume is easily recognizable and one of the costumes is likely Waller-Bridge's Helena character, the third black trenchcoat looks very similar to Toht from Raiders of the Lost Ark. This could be a new villain that is a fun homage to one of Indiana Jones' most iconic foes, or it could be an indicator about the film's plot. Rumors have been circulating that the movie will feature flashback scenes to a younger Indiana Jones, as indicated by on-set photos of Ford wearing motion capture dots on his face, indicating Toht may appear in one of these sequences.

The concept art and costume design may hint at some big announcements at the D23 Expo for Indiana Jones 5. With the film less than a year away, there is a strong possibility Disney could release a teaser poster and reveal the official title of the movie. While it is possible a trailer for Indiana Jones 5 might be shown at the D23 Expo, there's also a chance it won't be released to the public and instead be saved for the upcoming release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever or Avatar: The Way of Water.
