In addition to being Netflix’s newest dating reality show, Indian Matchmaking also provides some wholesome comedic moments. Apart from expert matchmaker Sima Taparia, Indian Matchmaking has many comedic moments with Aparna and her mother Jotika. Even though Aparna detests comedy, her bits on the show left many fans rolling on the floor. One such instance is when Aparna’s mother referred to her potential match as, “Srini the loser.” Apologies to both the Shewakramani ladies, but Srini AKA Srinivas Rao looks nothing like a loser when one decides to Google him.

Feisty, independent, with a passion for travel, Aparna is a 34-year-old lawyer from Houston. She’s introduced to Indian Matchmaking viewers when her mom decides to find her a suitable boy with the help of Sima Taparia. Mumbai’s top matchmaker Taparia flies down to meet her and to understand Aparna’s long list of expectations. “Not the funniest guy in the room,” is what Aparana wants her future husband to be. Her perfect mate should also know that Bolivia has salt flats. Taparia uses her decades of experience and picks out Srinivas Rao for the “negative” Aparna. The author and podcast host doesn’t seem to impress Jotika during their meeting. Although his date with Aparna initially seems to go well. Aparna instantly rejects him afterward. Srinivas tells the attorney that he was staying outside his parents' house until a couple of years ago and had a late start to his career which is a major red flag for the goal-oriented Indian Matchmaking career woman. Although Aparna states, “I would talk to you never,” after meeting Srini, many fans of Indian Matchmaking do want to know what he talks about on his podcast.
