Many fans are curious to know more about the cast of Indian Matchmaking Aparna Shewakramani. What makes her appealing is that she didn't fit the "criteria" of a typical Indian girl. She was not shy or soft-spoken, in fact, pretty vocal about her requirements for a suitable match.

Aparna is a 34-year-old lawyer living in Houston. She is feisty, loves to travel around the world, and have different experiences. Her mother was forced into her marriage, which then resulted in a divorce. So now, the mother-daughter duo doesn't want to settle for anything less than what they actually admire. Although Aparna doesn't like her own job, she is ambitious and wants her would-be husband to be career-driven too. She has got several needs and wishes, which seem reasonable except that she doesn't want her future husband to be humourous. That's strange but ok, acceptable! Enters the matchmaker, Sima Taparia, who helps her find her soul mate but then immediately calls her a "negative" person for having too many demands. While Aparna politely rejected the first guy, her mother didn't care about the cameras and called him a "loser" on tape.

After a couple of unsuccessful dates, the attorney finally found someone with whom she can see her future. Her meeting with Jay from Atlanta looked promising, but she isn't dating him. When asked by the LA Times during an interview. She said, "They were all wonderful people. They just weren't the one for me." It looks like Aparna is still single, and Sima is busy finding a potential mate for her! But the girl has not stopped traveling. Check out the picture she recently posted on her IG:

The creator of the show, Smriti Mundhra, elaborates on why she chose Aparna as a cast member. She said, "We picked her because she is hilarious. We South Asian women are expected to diminish ourselves and conform to what we think is going to be attractive to partners. But Aparna knows who she is, she knows what she wants, and she is not afraid to speak her mind."

Well, she wasn't correct about one thing, though. She said she won't go on a date with a lawyer, but she changed her mind and, in fact, loved the guy who was a lawyer and had his own law firm. While some viewers would find her unbearable on-screen, we think she was a great addition to this show. We liked how ambitious she was and not instantly agreeable on many things. We had Nadia, another cast member, to give us happy, cheerful vibes. Right?
