Pixar has announced that the first teaser trailer for The Incredibles 2 will debut tomorrow before it's shown in theaters next week. The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2004 animated superhero film, The Incredibles, brings back Brad Bird as director as well as Craig T. Nelson as Bob aka Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter as Helen aka Elastigirl, Sarah Vowell as Violet, and Samuel L. Jackson as Lucius Best aka Frozone, with Huck Milner replacing Spencer Fox as Dashiell Robert aka Dash.
An Incredibles sequel has been talked about for almost a decade, ever since Pixar's Ratatouille (Bird's first project after The Incredibles) released in 2007, and Bird has gone back-and-forth with the idea of pursuing another installment every time the subject comes up. However, he and Pixar didn't commit to the project until 2014. The sequel's production has been moving smoothly ever since, with the voice cast already filled out and the first batch of footage being shown at D23 Expo 2017 this past summer. And now, the first teaser trailer for The Incredibles 2 has been classified, with the promo expected to release this weekend.
Disney Pixar announced on Twitter this morning - with a short clip saying "Something incredible is coming" - that the first teaser trailer for The Incredibles 2 will release tomorrow. (You can watch the announcement video below). Disney will be harnessing the power of corporate synergy by playing the teaser trailer for The Incredibles 2 ahead of Pixar's latest film, Coco, which hits theaters on Wednesday, November 22.

Bird has previously said that he wants to explore ideas and themes in the sequel that he wasn't able to do with the first film, and that may be why the sequel centers almost entirely on Elastigirl and her adventures, while Mr. Incredible looks after their shapeshifting infant son, Jack-Jack (whose powers manifested at the end of the first film). What's more, Pixar CCO John Lasseter confirmed at D23 Expo 2017 that The Incredibles 2 takes place mere moments after the first movie's conclusion, with the superhero family going after the Underminer (John Ratzenberger), who declared war on "peace and happiness" at the end of the first movie.
The Incredibles 2 was originally scheduled to release in June 2019 (a favorite and successful month for the animation studio), but Toy Story 4 was staggering in production, so the studio switched the release dates between the two anticipated sequels. The Incredibles 2 is now set to arrive in theaters in June 2018, with Toy Story 4 scheduled to release the following summer.
