Elastigirl takes center stage in a new look at Pixar's The Incredibles 2. The years of longing for a sequel to The Incredibles is finally over this summer. It's been over a decade since Pixar introduced audiences to the Parr family, and ever since there has been a vocal clamoring for a sequel. The movie has been in development for years, but it has only been recently that some details have begun to be shared.
The first Incredibles 2 teaser debuted late last year, but barely scratched the surface of what the sequel would include. That didn't stop it from breaking records however, as it went on to become the most watched animated trailer ever. It did leave fans longing for more, something they'd yet to receive. Thanks to the 2018 Winter Olympics and the large audience the games typically receive, Disney provided a new trailer for the sequel after hyping the "special look" over the past few days.

Disney released new footage for The Incredibles 2 during the Olympics. The new footage shows more than the teaser that started the marketing campaign. This time, it puts the focus on Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), while teasing what happens next for the Parr family as a whole.
The trailer picks up almost exactly where the first film left off with The Underminer attacking the city. We get to see a few shots of Mr. Incredible getting back into action here. But, it doesn't look like his days of being the main hero will last very long. The trailer introduces a possibly villainous tycoon (voiced by Bob Odenkirk) looking to put the focus back on superheroes and wants Elastigirl to be front and center. She gladly accepts, putting on a slightly updated costume harkening back to her solo days, and leaves Bob to raise the kids.
Between helping Dash with his math homework and trying to keep Jack-Jack's newfound powers under control, it appears Bob will let himself go a bit as he tries to keep up. The switch should provide the movie with a chance to explore gender roles if they wanted. If not, this trailer re-affirms that The Incredibles 2 will have plenty of fun for viewers. With still much of the plot shrouded in secrecy, it will be up to future marketing materials to fill in those blanks. For now, all we know is the Parr family is officially back and ready for more.
