As Dead Space Remake is a survival horror game, players will be constantly searching for loot in order to collect enough to make it to the end of the game. Additionally, it will mean players do not have a large enough inventory to keep everything they find easily accessible. While Isaac only starts with a small twelve inventory slots, it is possible to increase these so that players can be as greedy as possible.
As in other aspects of the game, the Dead Space Remake remains true to its origins in respect to the inventory system. Isaac must make wise choices as to what to keep on him and what to store or sell. It is worth noting that the game takes into account what Isaac has in his inventory as to what drops he receives, so if there’s a weapon he’s not using often his inventory will fill up with ammo for that weapon. Drop the weapon off to receive more useful drops.
Acquiring More Inventory Slots in Dead Space Remake
For those looking to earn more than twelve inventory slots, it is possible to increase Isaac’s inventory throughout the game. Anyone hoping to do so will need to collect as many Credits as they can. Credits can drop from enemies as well as be found in lootable areas, such as lockers or chests. Unlike upgrading Health in Dead Space Remake, inventory slots are gained through getting a higher level RIG suit. Players should expect to spend a good amount of Credits to upgrade their suits.
Each upgrade costs a number of Credits and has to be unlocked. To unlock these new suits, players will have to find the schematics for most of them. Once the schematic has been found, it will be available for purchase in the store. There are six total levels for RIG suits, including the first RIG Isaac starts with. The sixth one is not available until Dead Space Remake's New Game+, but the Level 6 suit also does not add inventory space. Below is a table showing each level, how much it will cost, how many inventory slots it gives Isaac, and where to unlock it.

Of note, the RIG suit upgrades at the upgrade bench will not upgrade inventory space, but the upgrades do transfer to newly acquired suits. Among the changes to the Dead Space Remake are new missions and a more open Ishimura, which Isaac will need all the inventory slots he can get to fully explore. Taking advantage of this exploration will allow Isaac to find answers and survive his encounter with the deadly Necromorphs.
