Back from shooting on location in Paris and Morocco [insert snyde comment to mask my jealousy], the big three from Inception (Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page) were caught on film in LA, doing more shooting for Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi mystery.
SARCASM ALERT: These pics contain massive gargantuan SPOILERS about the film.
Latino Review and Faded Youth Blog provided the following glimpses from the Inception LA set:
Head over here for a more extensive gallery of these ultra-exciting shots.
Inception is set in a world in which the technology exists to dictate a person's dreams and DiCaprio plays a businessman illegally attempting to do just that for professional gain, while Gordon-Levitt and Page are a part of his team. By the looks of the teaser trailer, those dreams will more along the lines of the "I was falling from the sky and my high school gym teacher tried to sell me a turkey burger" abstract kind, as opposed to the "one day I'll rob a bank like they do in The Dark Knight," fantasy kind.
Speaking of Nolan's billion-dollar-grossing(!) follow-up to Batman Begins, the folks over at Latino Review claim that he'll let the world know if he's planning on directing what would be his third Batman after Inception is released.
Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer and the cool-but-hard-to-understand Brick) had some really nice things to say about DiCaprio (Critters 3, Poison Ivy ;-)). According to Faded Youth Blog:
"That guy does it because he loves it and believes in the art and the craft of it, which shows in his work and his choices. It’s something I have always aspired to..."
He says other very nice things that you can check out over at the aforementioned Faded Youth Blog. I would imagine he also thinks very highly of Ms. Page (Hard Candy). IMO, combining three accomplished actors with a proven talented director who has a knack for finding depth and great characters in thrilling action movies (he also directed Memento) sounds like a recipe for a great film. Do you think these three actors will use their talents to help make Inception great, or will so many easily recognizable mugs keep the audience wondering who they saw in what earlier movie and who's trailer was the sweetest? With Nolan at the helm, I'm betting it'll be the former, for sure.
Inception was written and directed by Nolan and will be released July 16, 2010.
