People may still have trouble placing Imogen Poots' face, but the young actress has shown up in some key places that are probably inscribed upon your cinematic memory. She played the young girl whose story "V" used to inspire an imprisoned Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta; she was the young girl just trying to survive and protect her brother in 28 Weeks Later; and depending on your genre preferences, you may have seen her in anything from Jane Eyre to Fright Night to Centurion.
Well, Poots is going to have something of a bigger spotlight shone on her in 2014; she will join Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul in the big-screen adaptation of the Need For Speed video game series - but first she joins three of the hottest up-and-coming young actors (Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan, and Miles Teller) for some raunchy rom-com hijinks in That Awkward Moment.
In the film Poots plays Ellie, a young NYC writer who is just about to have a book published. Her publishing success brings her into contact with book cover artists Jason (Efron) and Daniel (Teller) after a somewhat awkward one-night stand with the former, but despite that, she begins to find that love could be blossoming in her life.
While at the NYC junket for That Awkward Moment we talked to Poots about her character's unorthodox fashion sense, which of her male co-stars is the funniest and just how familiar she is with the video game world she's stepping into with Need For Speed (Spoiler: She's not all that familiar).
That Awkward Moment is now in theaters. Be sure to check out our other Interviews with the cast and director.
Need For Speed will be in theaters on March 14, 2014.
