Now that Kanye West has announced that he's definitely running for president in 2020, what would happen if he actually won and Keeping Up With The Kardashians was filmed in the White House?

First of all, a Kanye West presidency would solidify the Kardashians as America's first family. This moniker is one that has been bestowed upon the Kardashian-Jenners, but has attracted the ire of some who feel it glorifies them unnecessarily. Still, it could be fun watching Kim Kardashian stroll through the West Wing in her signature bodycon dresses, with one of her young kids at her hip. It could also be interesting seeing her prison reform initiatives play out on a much larger scale with cameras rolling. Kendall and Kylie Jenner would add a young, hip tinge of cool with every walk-on appearance, and let's face facts: Kris and Kourtney would probably redecorate the White House in some Cali-chic combination of beige and black. Khloe's next cheating scandal with on-again, off-again boyfriend Tristan Thompson would likely erupt on the newly political version of the family's popular show. We'd also get to watch the next generation of Kardashian-West children grow up in the tricky world of global diplomacy. As POTUS, West's battle with bipolar disorder might win him fans stateside, but could prove detrimental internationally if showcased on a weekly television show.

West made the formal announcement of his presidential run this week on Twitter in a Forbes magazine interview, but also took the time to address his fans and fellow MAGA-hat wearers with this tweet: "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION." So far, Chance the Rapper, Jaden Smith, and Elon Musk have publicly pledged to support West for president. Perhaps one or all of them might drop in for a cameo if KUWTK makes it to the White House full time.

West's abrupt announcement that he's thrown his MAGA hat into the ring for the presidency was met with skepticism by most, and anger by many. The musician and entrepreneur has been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump throughout his presidency, but announced just this week that he is no longer in league with the current administration. This has precipitated quite a few questions about his sudden flip-flop. Social media is a hotbed of conversations about West acting as a diversion to lure votes away from Joe Biden's presidential bid. West proudly proclaimed during his announcement that he was happy to steal minority voters from Biden. However, the rapper offered very little in the way of a political platform. He's chosen to run on the Birthday Party ticket - a political party steeped in the traditions of Never-Never Land - where voters will "feel like it's their birthday" if and when West wins. However, he has also yet to file any official paperwork and has already missed the deadline in several key states that might have garnered him delegates once voting gets underway.

Realistically, there's no way that the United States government would ever idly stand by and allow a sitting president to participate in a reality show. The national security implications of such a thing are just insane. However, with a current president who was once a reality star, it's likely that Kanye West would still try to swing for the fences and shoot a little something-something from his new digs on Pennsylvania Avenue if elected. Kim's platform as a prison reformist would certainly make for purposeful television in these contentious times, while her husband's meandering eccentricity and incoherent diatribes would deliver every juicy moment of guilty pleasure one could ask for on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The rest of the family members and their usual antics would also prove delightful in the tony microcosm that is Washington, D.C. Again, it'll never happen, but it's fun (and a little disturbing) to fantasize.
