A behind-the-scenes video of the upcoming iCarly reboot just revealed its June premiere date. iCarly was a huge Nickelodeon show for young kids, tweens, and teens in the early 2010s. The series defined an entire generation and has been enjoying a recent resurgence in popularity thanks to iCarly being put on Netflix. There, many viewers flocked to rewatch their favorite childhood show.

Now Paramount+ is releasing its very own iCarly revival series which will follow the original characters as they grow into adulthood. Some of the main cast will be returning including Miranda Cosgrove (Carly), Nathan Kress (Freddie), and Jerry Trainor (Spencer). Jennette McCurdy who played Carly's friend Sam will not be back. The actress has stated she's embarrassed of her past roles and does not wish to return to acting.

Regardless, with much of the cast coming back, the series has caused a lot of excitement. Paramount+ posted a behind-the-scenes video of Kress, Trainor, and two new cast members all wishing Cosgrove a Happy Birthday. In the video, Cosgrove cuts open a birthday cake with a message inside that reads "iCarly premieres June 17th on Paramount+." Check out the video below.

Whether or not the reboot will address if Carly and Freddie ever truly got together after the show ended has yet to be answered. However, the iCarly reboot will likely explore romance as an adult now that the characters are in their twenties. The show could also expand upon the emergence of internet influencers, who have become more prevalent since the show ended in 2012. Carly was one of the first internet vloggers ever depicted on screen. It will be interesting to see if the show touches on how much the vlogging profession has expanded over the years and if Carly has managed to keep up.

Paramount+ is heavily relying on its Nickelodeon programming to boosts its subscriber base. The streamer is clearly banking on the nostalgia factor as well as properties with an existing fanbase. This is likely why Paramount+ is reviving iCarly in the first place. If this series is a hit, then Paramount+ could reboot other childhood favorites in the future. For now, iCarly is only confirmed for one season and thirteen episodes. However, if it's a success, it stands to reason another season could be on the way. With the revival coming out so soon, expect a trailer in the near future.
