According to IESB, the very unofficial rumblings are that Alex Proyas may be the director for the caught-in-limbo Iron Man movie. Proyas directed I, Robot, a bit of sci-fi fluff that was mildly entertaining, and Dark City which totally and utterly rocked.
IESB interviewed producer Don Murphy recently and he said that Iron Man "needs to be made" and that he "wouldn't be surprised" if there was some news soon.
Since Iron Man is my favorite Marvel superhero I'm both eager and nervous about a live action movie being made. On the one hand I'd love to see a good movie about Tony Stark/Iron Man, but on the other hand directors sometimes go off on some pretty wild tangents in order to make a movie "theirs".
However, I can certainly think of worse people to direct than Alex Proyas.
