The stupendous chief of the Yiga Clan, Master Kohga, will make his return in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and he appears to be as enthusiastic a character as he was in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A new trailer for Hyrule Warriors gave an extensive look at the exuberant Master Kohga, his Yiga Clan members, and a mysterious new enemy.

The Yiga Clan were first introduced in Breath of the Wild as an organization of assassins that's main goals were to stop Link from defeating Ganon and to horde a massive amount of bananas. Yiga Clan members would become one of the main enemies that players would fight in BOTW and they appeared in two variations: Yiga Footsoldiers and Yiga Blademasters. As a part of the game's main storyline, players would have to infiltrate the Yiga Clan's hideout and defeat Master Kohga in combat. However, sneaking through the hideout without being discovered proved to be a more difficult task than defeating the leader of the Yiga Clan.

Nintendo has already revealed a bunch of characters returning in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity from Breath of the Wild, and today it was revealed that Master Kohga would be making a vivacious return. A new trailer was released by Nintendo that focused mainly on Kohga's return, but it featured a few other unique characters. A new Yiga Clan member was revealed which resembled a Yiga Blademaster but wielded two swords, and his voice acted lines in a cutscene make it seem as if he could be a main character in the storyline. A third character also appeared in the trailer, but his identity remains unknown.

For having aged 100 years by Breath of the Wild, Master Kohga looks the exact same in Hyrule Warriors, which raises further questions about his humanity (or lack thereof) beyond his obviously abnormally large size. His signature dad bod and boisterous personality are identical to how they were in Breath of the Wild, which makes it seem as if he isn't a tough adversary. However, his twin-bladed bodyguard and edgy magician companion look as if they can put up a fight. The new mysterious character appeared twice throughout the trailer: once at 23-seconds advising Master Kohga and once at the end seemingly giving orders to Yiga Clan members. While Kohga appears often as a dimwitted buffoon, this new edgy wizard could be the one who is behind the Yiga Clan's success.

Now that Kohga has been revealed, it's hard to think of any other Breath of the Wild characters that Nintendo has yet to reveal for Hyrule Warriors. The reveal of young Impa and teen Purah set the internet ablaze, and Master Kohga's iconic "kill you all to death" voice line has become an instant sensation. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is gearing up to be a wonderful prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it looks like everyone's favorite characters are coming along for the ride.
