Ubisoft's new battle royale, Hyper Scape, breathes new life into the BR genre combining fast-paced mobility and action-packed combat with audience participation. Hyper Scape is a battle royal that lets the viewers affect what happens in each round of the game. But the game's seamless integration with Twitch chat is not the only aspect of the game that sets it apart from other battle royales.

Hyper Scape introduces abilities, also known as hacks, that players can collect and use endlessly during the game. There are 10 different hacks, and players can choose two at a time to carry with them. Each ability is unique and can give the player an upper-hand in battle or provide an escape route in times of need. While abilities in battle royales are nothing new, Ubisoft's Hyper Scape is one of the few times they are done right, and the abilities in Hyper Scape feel natural to use as opposed to a cumbersome gimmick.

How To Focus Hacks In Hyper Scape

Hyper Scape's abilities are unique as they can be stacked to upgrade their power. Similar to purchasing items in MOBAs, collecting multiple of the same ability increases that abilities power and reduces its cooldown time. Each hack can be upgraded five times before its level is maxed out.

Players should focus on hacks that best suit their playstyle, and being able to carry two different hacks allows players to mix and match hacks until the find a combo they like the best. There are offensive, defensive, and traversal hacks, and a mix of hacks can prove to be incredibly useful. Some hacks even have dual a dual purpose of traversal/offense, traversal/defense. As a rule of thumb, players should always have at least one traversal hack as Hyper Scape's core gameplay revolves around moving around quickly.

While there currently isn't a meta when it comes to hacks, some of these hack combos may best suit your play style. Slam + Invisibility allows the player to travel a far distance while also dealing damage to players that are landed on, and invisibility is great for players who need to make a quiet getaway. Ball + Armor allows the player to travel a far distance while completely protected, and armor allows the player to tank hits in a heated battle. Mine + Teleport allows players to plant heat-seeking mines and quickly dash away, and teleporting is a very practical hack to have to traverse buildings and get the jump on enemy players.
